Former Wolfsburg coach Martin Schmidt has expressed confidence Victor Osimhen will settle quickly at Napoli but needs to work more on the tactical aspect of his game.
Osimhen, 21, who is set to sign for Napoli this summer, joined Wolfsburg in January 2017 but only played 16 games for the Bundesliga side before moving to Belgian club RSC Charleroi.
Osimhen arrived from Belgium to Ligue 1 last summer and has impressed in France, but Schmidt doesn’t seem surprised.

And speaking ahead of the move, Schmidt feels the Nigerian forward has matured and will be ready for the challenge ahead in Naples.
“Victor is a good player, very good in pressing,” Schmidt told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“He’s aggressive, he finishes well, he has great quality. He has strength in duels too.
“His mentality and passion fit well with Napoli’s philosophy. Maybe he needs to improve his tactics.
“I know tactics are very important in Italian football. He’s a great athlete, very fast, plays with both feet, but he still has some potential to develop tactically.
“Yes, I think he has matured. His mentality will help him settle quickly. His mentality and passion will help him.”

And you don’t right?
No wonder sacked. U should just accept the fact that u have made a mistake by not giving him opportunity. But it’s normal great coaches like wenger has made same mistakes too, so allow the young man to rest with your tactics talk.
Free this guy. Almost destroy the young man career come dey Yan dust. Why e no epp am improve tactically. Utter nonsense. God is with Osi. The young man lost both parents and he prays after every game plus trains very seriously. So baba respect yourself & hush.

… Hahaha, Victor needs to improve tactics, lol. We hear you, that’s how they never gave Chrisantus Macaulay any chance at HSV Hamburg… they will never show young African players enough support making them begin to doubt their own game… Wfl Wolfsburg just realized how they were wrong in casting him off without much fate and how they could have been the ones reaping off his high sales in place of Lille now… rueing that, the coaching is now talking as if Victor flopped at Wolfsburg because he does not understand tactics or was immature when he played with Wolfsburg… Utter nonsense… Barely two seasons after leaving them the guy has become an apex forward… Una never see anything… Schmidt ko Smith no!
Sincerely speaking i appreciates all the comments it is as if everyone know what Osimhen went through at wolfsburg..This man is what we can call unreal didirin..ThankGod Osimhen find his way out of that country…awon oloribobo bi eni akara.
I’m sure former Wolfsburg coach Martin Schmidt is getting the stick for letting Osimhen go too soon and not managing him properly.
His inept efforts weren’t just good enough for Osimhen.
There’s significant potential to harness more effectively the skill and passion the young lad has which was efficiently managed in Belgium rejected in Germany, delivered in France and a big money move to Italy.
There’s indeed a light at the end of the tunnel for star boy Osimhen.
Thanks Schmidt, save your advice for another day!I hope you are not shamed leading to this random advice coming at a hugely successful period of his career. At least you should have said this long ago in his early days in Belgium.
You can tell Mr.Schmidt is amazed by Osimhen rise, the good word he put in and laudatory utterances,i think Schmidt’s face is red with shame haha…
Totally agreed with your views. Thanks
