Exclusive: 2022 WCQ: Rohr Must Get His Selection Right Against Cape Verde -Rufai

Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Peter Rufai believes Super Eagles coach, Gernort Rohr’s selection will be key in determining the outcome of today’s 2022 World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde.

Rohr , who is expected to miss key players like Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Willian Troost Ekong, Oghenekharo Etebo, Joe Aribo, Ola Aina and others due to UK covid-19 restriction, will be banking on some new players in the team to help him grind the three points against the Blue Shark.

The 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner told Completesports.com that selecting the right players against Cape Verde will help the team pick the maximum point.

“I have no doubt that the Super Eagles will pick the three points against Cape Verde. But my concern has to do with the players Rohr will deploy to the field of play against them.

“Making the right selection will definitely help him to nail Cape Verde down at their home soil. We have the players who can get the job done for us.’

With Kalu out of this match I think we will have a better chance to judge coach Rohr if his back up calls are justified after ignoring Markus Abraham and many more.

“And many more” indeed. If na u I know say u go call your kindred and even great grand fathers follow join. Everybody now don get mouth whilst ignoring the glaring fact that this man and his team are still being owed and yet u expect them to churn out results on empty stomachs. Wicked people. Heartless sorry entities. Nonsense.

If he know the best selection why don’t him call the man and offer his advice on how best he can approach the match to achieving the desired result. All this ex international are a disappointment it is only before the match they will be doing I Sabi but after the team won they will go back to their ideout untill when it’s another match

Team list is out according to owngoal.

Having Omeruo and Awaziem pairing at CB is a masterstroke given that they played together at Leganes at a point. Cohesion will not be much problem.

Having Musa behind the main striker is suspect as his strength of pace is being curtailed while I don’t see him as a great passer of the ball but let’s see how in goes.

    Good luck Super Eagles!

I still believe Izuchukwu is needed as Back up to Balogun and Ekong because I don’t trust Awaziem. Izuchukwu is good in curtailing pressure with great ball composure and ball distribution inclusive. We should not let go another precious talent to whatever European country after failing to CAP him.

Thank you for saying this today Mr. Peter Rufai and we are saying the same thing here every day but for NFF, Pinnick and Oga Rohr followers, they believe Oga Rohr is the best for the job. Ah, mba.

I am challenging you today NFF president, Oga Rohr followers and Oga Rohr himself that if Super Eagles failed to win or play below their capacity or unimpressive performance in today’s match, Oga Rohr should step away from Super Eagles job.

It is simple as that. We hire and we fire. I have my own reasons for saying that.

My point no1, he knew that the UK players won’t be available for today’s match but why the coach refused to call other players into the camp?

Point no2, he has no reason not to have full squad for that match but why he is converting players when we have better replacements for the absentees?

Point No3, what is he building over the five years when it is matter most now, he is still struggling?

Point no4, it is his own choice to work for free and if he thinks he can not continue, he should step down.

He shouldn’t use that as an excuse because I have never heard such any where in Africa that A white coach is working for free while NFF staffs are getting paid every month. Does that make sense?

Anybody that using that to backup his arguments should have a rethink.

You can not produce a solid team over the five years then what are you doing with the team?

Dodomayana knows what he is saying and my view is not different from his perspective.

If he fumbled in today’s match, it is not because of the UK players but is tactics.

I have said this long time ago that our players are the ones winning the matches not the coaches.

They are not good enough. Let NFF give Marnu Gerba, Enyeama, Ikeme, Amunike and Egbo a chance and free hand to build the current Super Eagles and make sure they are in charge of the team during the Afcon and world cup if we qualify.

Enough of this and I can not take this anymore.

Oga Rohr have no choice, he have to deliver in today’s match because this is not the first time this situation will occurs to Super Eagles.

It has happened to Coach Christian Chukwu during the Afcon 2004 when he had to sent 3 to 4 players out of the camp. And Super Eagles won Bronze medals in that tournament if am not mistaken.

So, I don’t want to hear excuses because I am not smiling at the moment because of what the coach is doing.

You bench Uzoho for no reason. You keep using Okoye because you probably made a promise that no matter what, Okoye will get a game time as long as you are still in charge of the Eagles Eagles. Same thing applies to Akpoguma.

I love Okoye but he is not yet there and am worried about him in today’s match.

He should not make the mistakes he made during the Afcon qualifiers against Benin or so.

For now at the national team, Uzoho remains our no1.

It is now or never, we have to do very well in today’s match. Good luck Super Eagles. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
