Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai says he’s optimistic Morocco will not be a match for the Golden Eaglets in today’s 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations clash.
Recall that both teams are on three points apiece after winning their opening game on Sunday.
Nigeria piped Zambia 1-0 while Morocco defeated South Africa 2-0.
Ahead of today’s game, Rufai in a chat with Completesports.com said that the Moroccans will be taking to the cleaner by Nigeria.
“Many Nigerians will be expecting Morocco to give the Golden Eaglets a difficult test but I am confident Nigeria will place them where they belong.
“This is a game that will bring out the best of talent from our players and I know the team will pick the maximum points.”

God bless you Peter Rufai.
I have the same confidence that Nigeria will beat Morocco.
God bless Nigeria.
Pls how can we see this match online, abeg oo
Football is not Won by mouth..it is won on the field of play. Enough mouth and more action. Let us see. I hope we won’t be left with egg on our face after such assertion that the only male senior side to reach Semi’s a football nation like Morocco will be put in thier place. The over confidence this country has is sometimes what turns around to bite us in the backside. Because it is not like we even play our cards to the fullest of our abilities.
When elders talk, he get y bro
Going by what I saw between Golden Eaglets and Morocco, by God’s grace, Eaglets will overcome Morocco.
Eaglets can score from any where on the pitch and the Nigerian has a potential that second to none in this tournament.
So far, the strongest teams in this tournament are Nigeria, Zambia, Senegal and Morocco.
Any team that have to beat Zambia must have to work really hard.
Even, Senegal won’t find it so easy to beat the Zambian team.
Hmmm. But we have to remain humble and focus. We shouldn’t seeing ourselves as favorite. We are here for two things. We have to qualify to the world cup first then we can shift our attention to how to win the tournament in Algeria.
This is the type of local coach we want at all national teams of ours. Coach Ugbade has so many qualities that other local coaches should emulate. Transparency, confidence, humbleness, integrity, tactically and technically sound.
Coach Ugbade is making a statement in Algeria already. He has integrity, and he doesn’t want to tanish his own image by selecting the best for Nigeria.
That is what we want. Oga Paseiro should be the last foreign coach for Nigeria.
NFF should work very hard to select the best local coach at all levels for our national teams.
Nigerians are loving what they are seeing after the first outing in Algeria. That is how it should be. Eaglets will improve tremendously as the tournament progresses.
I wish Golden Eaglets good outing in Algeria. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
It’s a complete shame if you are truly happy with what you saw against the Zambians. Transparency, technically and tactically sound? Are you serious?!!!
The match has ended with the defeat by morroco. Clueless team not able to play any direct shots at goal.it was as if the football is made of brick because their shots are weak.Even the under 17 girls shoots better and were scoring goals from outside the box.
