Former Nigerian international, Dosu Joseph has revealed that the Super Eagles will miss the services of Wilfred Ndidi in the midfield at the forthcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Recall that Ndidi has been ruled out of Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign because of injury.
The 27-year-old Leicester City midfielder was named in the Super Eagles’ 25-man squad on 29 December but was absent from his club side’s win over Huddersfield Town on Monday.
Nigeria begin their Group A campaign against Equatorial Guinea on 14 January, and the West Africans will also face hosts Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau in the group stage.

However, in a chat with Completesports.com,the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist stated that Ndidi’s absence will be surely missed by the Super Eagles.
“We will surely miss Ndidi in the midfield. He has been a very strong player for the Super Eagles since he started wearing the green-white green.
“And most of the matches he has played, he has always stood his ground and let Nigerians know that he’s the best in this position.
“But then, in this tournament, he won’t be available due to injury and that’s an opportunity for whoever is going to be called upon that will play in that position to do well.
‘Ndidi has left a very good performance for that person to watch and see that he needs to do better than what Ndidi has done. So I think the person that is coming will know that he has task to do.”
