Former Nigerian winger, Tijani Babangida has heaped praises on Super Eagles duo of Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman for their impressive goal scoring form for their respective clubs in the Serie A.
Recall that Osimhen fired his 14th goal in the league as Napoli defeated AS Roma 2-1, to go 13 points clear at the top of the standings
His 14-goal tally halfway through the campaign has thus matched his overall record of last season.
On the other hand, Ademola scored his 12th goals of the campaign in Atalanta’s 2-0 victory over Sampdoria at the weekend.
The Nigerian international is one goal shy of Osimhen in the top goal scorer chat.
However, reacting to their incredible form at the weekend, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist told Completesports.com that the Super Eagles stars have become a nightmare for defenders in the Serie A.
“It’s a great delight to know that two Super Eagles stars are doing Nigeria proud in the Serie A this ongoing season.
“Osimhen and Lookman appear to be unstoppable in the league where they have been banging goals at will for Napoli and Atalanta respectively.
“It is not an easy feat but I must commend their efforts and hope that they replicate this form in the Super Eagles as well, most especially when the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers resume later this year.”

Now that there is a great improvement & performance from SEBASTIAN OSIGWE, TRONNE EBUEHI, AL-HASSAN YUSUF, MAJA, CHUBA AKPOM, AKPOGUMA, FOLARIN BALOGUN, LOOKMAN, DESSERS in their respective clubside, it Is HIGH TIME for Coach PASEIRO to make a HARSHY DECISION and thrash away irrelevant players in Super eagle. Any players that can not be 90% relevant on the field of play SHOULD NOT BE INVITED to Super eagle team again. Because their inclusion are:
** 1) SURPLUS TO REQUIREMENTS
** 2) creating SHORT-ONE into the team
** 3) BLOCKING THE CHANCES of other players that want to shine.
IF COACH PASEIRO CANNOT MAKE A BOLD STEP AND DEAL WITH IRRELEVANT PLAYERS IN SUPER EAGLE TEAM, THAT MEAN FAILURE IS LOCKING AT YOUR DOOR.
Please drop sentiments and players who live on it. We saw how Ghana defeated us and went on with fresh hands to put up a good performance in Qatar 2022. This is what we need exceptional new players who can change the lackadaisical spirit of the Super Eagles. Musa, Ighalo, Ekong and Balogun should all be out of it. They have given their best and we don’t or should expect more. It will be like persuading a pigbto fly.
If i were Peseiro i will be salivating with the recent form of Lookman and Osihmen. Brodas, can u imagine this team

Wuth Bright and Aina tucking into d midfield when we have posession like the way man city uses kyle walker and zinchenko (when he was still there) and how araenal now uses zinchenko (pretty much as a midfielder when they are in pisession. There will be dynamism, flair, solidity, pace and firepower.
Like a broda above mentioned, players like dennis, musa, balogum, ekong, collins, ighalo, etebo, iheanacho honestly in my view are irrelevant to this team. Itshigh time the captain armsband goes to Ndidi not ekong or simon with assistant captain being iwobi. Players like alhassan, onyedika, should be brought in to understudy ndidi not players without skill like onyeka or bonke. Not sure the status of Amoo, that a player dat can give Samu a real fight while Simon (tho not a fan as he can’t cross the ball to save his life especially in a SE shirt) can battle it out with Ejuke. Tho Ejuke should be warned not to dwell on d ball 4 too long where a 1-2 might be ideal. Ejuke could easily be our own Grealish wen serious. With 2 forwards in Lookman and Osihmen goals will come from dem and if not due to defenders doubling dem, players like Samu and Ejuke will take advantage to score. Two players can’t stop osihmen let alone one, this will create goal s oring opportunities for SE attacking players for sure.

Nothing fantastic about the team, Ndidi is a bonafide bench warmer, Aina is just returning from injury, Okonkwo is yet to decide and Ejuke is over rated. This leaves us with the real ballers in the team like samu, osimhen , lookman, bright and bassey. I hope coach peseiro takes note, moses simon should never start ahead of Lookman.
My broda, in d land of the blind one eyed man is king. Based on the players we currently have, personally i think that team if healthy is d best we have. If ndidi regains his form i don’t see anyone challenging him in dat position. I like yusuf and onyedika but they are still way behind him. I don’t see anyone better than Ejuke that u can call on (simon ain’t better than him nor is Denni or olayinka or even successs), so who would u play ahead of Ejuke that is a nigerian abd not someone we need to go beg like eze or olise? A healthy and fit Aina can easily fit in midfield as he is capable of using both feet and can also defend well. He and Saidu should battle for dat position when healthy, fit and playing regularly. I agree with u with Okonkwo as he will need to desire if he wants to play for nigeria. I will be very interested to know a nigerian team u consider fantastic my broda. Please don’t include players who haven’t agreed to play for 9ja tho.
That’s the point, our current team is not fantastic! As we speak, our midfielders are bench warmers, barring iwobi. When was the last time Onyeka start for Brentford? Ndidi for Leicester?? Yet our coach claims he will win the next afcon!! The word Fantastic is defined as “Extraordinarily Good”, “Outstanding”. Based on form, there are only 2 players who based on their current form tick those boxes and they are Victor Osimhen and Lookman. The rest are not even close to being outstanding (They do not stand out). Iwobi and Samu have been decent but far from such superlatives.
Then my broda, u can make that atgument for all african teams then. So we can both agree that no african team is fantastic then. U can even say not many European teams are fantastic other than france, england, maybe spain and germany. Even d wirldcup champs argentina shouldn’t be considered a fantastic team then. My broda if u aren’t going to a tournament with d mindset of winning it, why bother going? I think aside maybe Senegal and Morocco, Nigeria has the most talented team, it might to materialize to us winning AFCON but we do have players that can win it. Nigeria will always be considered one of the favorites to win the AFCON. As much as i liked Rohr, one of the things i hated was him acting like the other african teams are suoerior to nigeria in terms of talent pool. Most african countries would dread playing nigeria in AFCON and u know it. We are definitely one of d favorites to lift d afcon as do senegal, ivory coast, morocco, algeria, egypt, mali even ghana so we should wear d favorite tag with pride
