Exclusive: Peseiro Can Build A Formidable Eagles If…-Aikhoumogbe

Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Andrew Aikhoumogbe believes Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro will build a formidable team for Nigeria if he utilises the talent at his disposal properly.

Recall that the Portuguese tactician has come under heavy criticisms after the team lost 1-0 to Guinea-Bissau in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Although Nigeria later won the reverse fixture 1-0, a section of the Nigerian fans are still skeptical about Peseiro’s technical ability to improve the Super Eagles.

Reacting to this development, Aikhoumogbe from his Cairo base in Egypt, stated that the transition of play in the team is gradually improving.

He also urged Peseiro to utilise the array of talent at his disposal if he must build a formidable Super Eagles.

“The Super Eagles may have suffered some defeats in some of the games that was played under Peseiro, most recently against Guinea-Bissau but then, you shouldn’t expect the team to be at their best at this point in time.

” Yes, Nigerians always expect their team to win and when results are not forthcoming the coach takes the blame.”

*I am still optimistic that Peseiro will build a formidable Super Eagles regardless of what has happened. Besides, the transition of play in the team has improves and we can observe that the team has been playing good football.”

I strongly believe that Pesiro should be sacked. He is not qualified to be our coach.

  • For Me I will rather a coach starts like this and keeps improving than star well and regress and stagnate like Rohr.. So let us see how he performs going forward and if he has learnt his lesson from leaving the likes of Isaac Success, Gift Orban, Victor Boniface, Onyedikacchi, Alhasan Yusuf, Ebuehi. Not Pushing for players like Eze, Folarin Balogun, Olise hard enough, I know they can not all be selected at the same time but players who are not inform and not playing thier clubs have no Business in SE. Then selecting the likes of Musa, Onuachu and co. is a big No No.

I think Peseiro must be sacked then NFF must hire World class coach so that he will harness Super Eagles talented player then will creat a formidable team; France coach is suitable to be hired, just like former French coach Rimon Domenech or jacket Santini, if you can’t hire one of them, you can go to Brasilian coaches like former coaches Dunga or Tite or go to Netherland former coaches just as Ronald and Frank Deboer or Philip cocu; NFF must pay coaching crew their wages in time, also NFF must put hard conditions on new coaches that they must stay in Nigeria, must develop Nigeria NPLF, must put a drastic and pressing defensive and orgnized pattern of play for Super Eagles so hired coach must inact a code of conducts on recalled players for SE to obligate with dedication and committment and enthusiasm then die for white and green jersy; if any recalled player does not obligate with this code of conducts he must be excluded from SE team for a length of time, then he can be recalled and return back but with hard conditions that if he does not obligate again for other chance he must be excluded finally from SE without any return back, he must be fined about ten thousand dollars as compensation for NFF cost of recalling.

    • you guys keep on saying world class coach ,which planet are we on you can not even afford any coach ,do your NFF pay coach? .no nigerian billoniare or government is intrested in nigeria football.. start from lttle like amunike oe siasia when ban over even eguavon is ready to take monthly salary .till you find proper invebstor if you are winning your matches and make brand of eagles. investor will come. precise you dont even pay players regular please let think about what we have at the moment.

  • How long will Peseiro remain Super Eagles’ manager? Where will the money and material to build a “formidable” team come from? Certainly not with this corrupt NFF

The NFF can seriously cut cost by Hiring a Nigerian like Amunike or SiaSia for like $20,000 a month which is like $14 million naira compared to paying Peseiro $70,000 instead of paying this man 49 million naira a month…I’m sure they can do better than what this clown is doing.

Amaju is really a fool…….He paid Rohr $50,000 a month and this man qualified us for the WC, bronze at Afcon and was on the verge of another WC qualification but then you fire him and hire a guy with a bad coaching record and pay him more money with no justifiable reason why his pay is more than his predecessor and not forgetting the fact that they are still paying Rohr lol.

Please i beg Nigeria football fans at home to resist Nff move to return salisu to the supereagles coaching crew, that man is a failure, he ruined our olimpic chance, rejecting talents like akinola bcos of bribe he should be rejected at all cost, Salisu is not the only coach of Nigeria. As for supereagles if we cannot get a good forein coach, i think holiseh should be given the job assisted by some good local coaches.
Since fifa gave nff Power of independency over the goverment they have become worse and turn our football to another national cake

The problem with Nigerians is they’re quick to expect positive results and where they don’t get it, they start criticizing the coaching crew. They need to give Paseiro time to build a winning team with the SE. Nigeria has an array of stars and this alone presents a problem to foreign coaches. Also, there’s a need for the inclusion of a seasoned home coach in the team. In this regard, I suggest Amuneke he Amuneke excelled as a player and did very well as the Tanzania coach qualifying them for the AFCON tournament. Finally, excessive interference of NFF should be discouraged so the coaching crew will enjoy maximum freedom in doing their job.
