F1 Boasts Record Schedule for 2020

Formula 1 will host a record 22-race season in 2020 with two new races in the Netherlands and Vietnam added to the calendar. The 2020 campaign will get underway in Australia on March 15 with 22 races to take place by the time they wrap up the term in Abu Dhabi on November 29.

F1 bosses have hinted that the season could eventually extend to 24 events but that would require the go-ahead from all of the teams on the grid. Germany is the only race to be dropped for next season but the extra race means there will be seven ‘double-headers’ where events are held on consecutive weekends.

The Netherlands is back on the schedule with a trip to Zandvoort set for May 3, while Vietnam will host it’s first ever race on April 5.
