FA Cup: Man United, Man City Secure Big Wins Against Tranmere, Fulham

Manchester United bounced back from their disappointing defeat to Burnley in midweek and thrashed League One side Tranmere Rovers 6-0 away, in Sunday’s fourth round Emirates FA Cup clash at Prenton Park.

United had six different scorers against Tranmere. It was the first time they achieved the feat since October 1892, when they won 10-1 against Wolves in the top-flight.

Harry Maguire opened scoring for United in the 10th minute before Diogo Dalot made it 2-0 in the 13th minute.

Just three minutes after Dalot’ s goal, Jesse Lingard got on the score sheet to make it 3-0. Phil Jones got the fourth on 41 minutes while Anthony Martial added the fifth on the stroke of half-time.

And in the 56th minute, Mason Greenwood converted from the penalty spot to end the game 6-0 for Manchester United.

At the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City made light work of Fulham following a comfortable 4-0 win in their Emirates FA Cup match

A brace from Gabriel Jesus in the 72nd and 75th minutes and a goal apiece from Ilkay Gundogan (penalty) and Bernardo Silva in the eight and 19th minutes respectively, sent City into the next round.
