Fernandes, Rashford Relish Man United Derby Win Against Man City

Portugal midfielder, Bruno Fernandes and England forward Marcus Rashford have both lauded their club, Manchester United’s showing in their Manchester derby win over Manchester City on Saturday.

Manchester United defeated Manchester City 2-1 at Old Trafford in one of the Premier League’s popular derbies.

Jack Grealish’s goal gave City the lead in the 60th minute, but United equalised and eventually won the game with goals from Bruno Fernandes in the 78th minute and Marcus Rashford in the 82nd minute.

Speaking with BT Sport as quoted by The Athletic after the game, Fernandes lauded the team spirit within the squad.

“For us (it) doesn’t matter the opponent, the most important (thing) is winning,” said Fernandes.

“Some time ago, you could see sometimes (we were) a team, sometimes each one of us (were) looking a bit for ourselves.”

Rashford took to his Twitter page to tweet about his ecstatic victory mood.

“Manchester is Red,” his Tweet reads.

Fernandes currently has three goals and three assists in 17 Premier League games this season while Rashford has eight goals and three assists in 18 matches.

Manchester United, following the win against City, have climbed up to the third spot in the Premier League with 38 points from 18 games.
