Former Rangers goalkeeper Cammy Bell has criticized Super Eagles defender Emmanuel Fernandez following a costly second-half mistake in Rangers’ 1-0 victory over St Mirren.
During the match, Fernandez won the ball near the halfway line but attempted a risky, over-complicated flick to teammate Dujon Sterling.

The pass was intercepted by St Mirren’s Nikolas Agrafiotis, exposing the backline and launching a dangerous counter-attack. To stop the threat, Sterling was forced to commit a tactical foul, which earned him a yellow card.
Speaking on co-commentary for Rangers TV, Bell called out the lack of discipline and decision-making from the Nigerian international.
“When you’re a centre-half, you need to make better decisions,” the 39-year-old said in quotes reviewed by Rangers TV.
“These are bad decisions. That flick there. Can’t be doing that.
“He’s an excellent player, but you just cannot do that,” Bell concluded.

Despite the error and a controversial unpenalized first-half tackle on St Mirren’s Ismeal Kabia, Fernandez played the full 90 minutes and secured a clean sheet as Bojan Miovski scored a late 91st-minute winner for Rangers.
