FIFA WWC: Okeke Gets Call-Up For Austria Camp

Super Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby has called up Chidinma Okeke from the 2019 WAFU Women’s Cup team to join up with the provisional squad for the 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup reports Completesports.com.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup will hold in France from the 7th June to the 7th of July 2019.

Okeke alongside seven others, former junior international Uchenna Kanu who finished the 2019 WAFU Women’s Cup tournament in Abidjan on Sunday with nine goals, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Alaba Jonathan and Christy Ohiaeriaku.

Other are Evelyn Nwabuoku, Amarachi Okoronkwo and forward Alice Ogebe will join up with the squad for Nigeria’s pre-World Cup final camp in Austria according to a report from the communications department of the Nigerian Football Federation.

The players are expected to fly to Austria with the rest of the invited players on Monday evening with technical and administrative staff for the camping at the Avita Resort in Bad Tatzmannsdorf – the same facility where the Super Eagles had their final camping programme just before the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Nigeria’s final list of 23 players for the 8th FIFA Women’s World Cup finals will emerge from this group at the end of the two-week camping in Austria according to a report from the communications department of the Nigerian Football Federation.

They will then depart from Austria on 4th June direct to Reims, where they open their World Cup campaign against Norway on 8thJune.

The Super Falcons are in group A alongside France Norway and South Korea.
