  • Swimming? Wonder shall never end o

  • @Sean, swimming own good what about gymnastics?

Which black man with hard body like rock will win anything in gymnastics.

Not all Olympic games are suitable for all country hooo.

    • pompei 3 years ago

The idea that blacks are not good at gymnastics has been long put to rest.
The best female gymnast of all time is a black girl – Simone Biles.
Black person can do it, if they are willing to put in the work.

What home based can do, abroad based can do better, at least for now. They are helping us discover new talents in new sports. The other time they put our name in Winter Olympics.
Congratulations to our team, wishing them a medal filled outing. If we can get 1gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medal. It will be great.

Tokyo na fine city. Very beautiful. But this una waka no be for sight-seeing ooo.
Make una try come back with some medals.

Good to see that these athletes have not been told to “find their way” to Tokyo, as our athletes to the Rio Olympics were famously directed. Can you even begin to imagine the embarrassment? The frustration of the athletes?
Happily, that is not a problem for these athletes today.

The dark days of the reign of Solomon Dalung…LMAO…”the money spent were well spended”…LMAO.
The entire team Nigeria got their kit 15 days after the opening ceremony….LMAO…some events had been concluded while some athletes had crashed out of theirs. The most useless minister Ive ever seen. The guy makes mr Dare look like some great achiever….LMAO

BREAKING A member of the Nigerian delegation reportedly tested positive for COVID in Tokyo. Get well soon!!

        • These are the days of the Cabal,Mr. Merit is in prision and the quota sysem syndicates are in control.Sports organization and athletes selection and grooming has been tribalized, politicized and baptized in financial scams. You see figures but no presence.Who is going to engage in sports? The hungry, insecure or the mentally traumatized? How can you go sacrificing to train and hoping one day you will make it,when our government pay bandits, kidnappers and arsonist? Fellow country men,it has been a long day…I no fit shout.

As I look through the provisional 60-man list of Team Nigeria, I feel proud that our flag and country will be present at the Olympics.

However, this is a very worrying development for Nigeria at the games.

I used to remember how my dad told us of Chidi Imoh exploits at the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984.
Then I came across a brief YouTube video where Carl Lewis said that he was motivated to even run faster to win the race when he found out that Chidi Imoh, got a muscle discomfort and couldn’t complete the race they all started.
Carl Lewis said that he couldn’t sleep the night before that race because all he could imagine when he close his eyes to sleep was the image of Chidi !!!

So in summary, I would like to ask; “What actually went wrong with the sports we had the highest gift of competitive prowess ??”
What has happened to The men in games like Football, Boxing, Weightlifting, Judo, Cycling, Volleyball, Wrestling and Athletics (Short distance, long distance, Ling jump, High jump, Shot put, Discus, Re-lay) ….???
I am very much concern with the Men and It is disheartening to know that one time, our men has won medals in the Olympics in these specific sporting activities.

For example; The Igbos and Middle belt states have been involved in local Wrestling as a culture and thing of tradition. Why can’t we develop Wrestlers from these regions.
You can’t tell me that we can’t produce more than 1 swimmer when kids from Delta state or Cross-river State or from Riverine tribes in the Niger-Delta pretty much grew up with the river as their second home!!!
How about the northern part of the nation, have we tried to see if we can get a long distance runner from there ??

How can Nigeria be going to the Olympics with no Men or Female representation in football ?

Nigeria in this times should have produced more than 150 contingents for the Olympics on various sports with a view of winning medals if we put our sport home in order!!!

What is going on, For God sake?
    Somebody, please console me!!!

    • Dr. Drey 3 years ago

Pls ask our Roh…sorry…SPORTS minister o. LMAO

“How can Nigeria be going to the Olympics with no Men or Female representation in football?”

Good kweshon, my brother. I just weak. The thing dey heavy for my mind.
It’s very strange that our male and female football teams will not be in Tokyo, considering the talent levels present in both teams.
This is why we must not take Rohr’s achievements for granted. He may not have won tea cup yet, but qualifying us to 3 major tournaments with games to spare on each try, is a remarkable feat indeed!

  • Weight lifting??? What happened? We use to be household name in that sport

    • Handball, volleyball, boxing, etc Nigeria sports deserves state of emergency!
