Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has showered praise on Victor Osimhen following the club’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Göztepe at RAMS Park on Saturday night.
The defending champions fought back from a goal down to claim maximum points from the keenly contested encounter.
Osimhen was instrumental in the victory, registering a goal and an assist for the Yellow and Reds.
The Nigeria international had scored braces in each of Galatasaray’s opening two league matches before the clash with Göztepe.
The 27-year-old has now registered five goals and two assists in three league appearances this season.

Buruk Hails Osimhen’s Growing Influence
Buruk was particularly delighted with Osimhen’s increased involvement in Galatasaray’s attacking play and the number of chances his side created.
“Our shot count has never been this high. Osimhen is getting the ball more often this time, he’s getting into more positions in the penalty area, and there’s a Galatasaray team that’s creating more chances,” Buruk was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.
“We’ve scored nine goals in three weeks. That’s an average of three goals per game. Besides that, I think in the first and third matches we had a lot of possession in the opponent’s penalty area, created a lot of chances, and took a lot of shots. Our goal expectations were very high. That’s the positive side.”
The victory moved Galatasaray to the top of the standings with seven points from three matches.
Buruk’s side will next travel to face Istanbul Başakşehir in their league fixture on Sunday, September 6.
