Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray have reached an agreement with Sky Bet Championship side Burnley for the signing of Nigerian-born midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the two clubs have finalised the deal, with the midfielder now set to complete the formalities before being unveiled by the Istanbul giants.
According to Romano, the transfer package is worth just under €30 million, making it one of Galatasaray’s biggest signings of the summer transfer window.
“Here we go, confirmed: Lesley Ugochukwu will sign his contract at Galatasaray shortly. Deal worth under €30m package from Burnley for the midfielder,” Romano posted on X.

The 22-year-old only joined Burnley from Chelsea last summer after signing a five-year contract following the Clarets’ return to the Premier League.
Despite arriving with high expectations, he is now set for a fresh challenge in Turkey after Galatasaray moved swiftly to secure his services.
Ugochukwu spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Southampton, where he gained valuable Premier League experience before returning to Chelsea.
A product of Stade Rennais’ renowned academy, Ugochukwu made his senior debut for the Ligue 1 outfit as a teenager and quickly established himself as one of France’s brightest young midfielders. His performances earned him a move to Chelsea in 2023.
Ugochukwu is expected to add strength, athleticism and composure to Okan Buruk’s squad as Galatasaray prepare to defend their domestic title and compete in the UEFA Champions League next season.
