Garba: Golden Eaglets Ready For First Brazil 2019 Test Vs Hungary

Golden Eaglets head coach Manu Garba says the team is battle ready for Saturday’s first Group B match at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil against Hungary at Goiania Estadio Olimpico, reports Completesports.com.

The Eaglets touched down in Goiania, Brazil on Tuesday from Sao Paulo, the city they had their training tour and swung into action with a training session in preparation for the clash against the East European side.

“We are looking forward to the game against Hungary with great expectations of having a good game and winning the maximum points at stake,” Garba told nff.com.

“Any team from Europe that qualified for a tournament like this, must definitely be a good side, but we will approach the game with every seriousness it deserves to give Nigerians back home something positive to cheer at the end of 90 minutes.”

It will be the second meeting between both countries at the U-17 level. The Eaglets beat Hungary 3-1 in the quarter-final stage of the maiden edition of the competition in 1985.

The Saturday’s match against Hungary will kick off at 9pm Nigerian time.

The Golden Eaglets will face Ecuador also at the Goiania Estadio Olimpico on Tuesday, 29 October. They will confront Australia in their last group game on Friday, 1 November at Eatadio Bezerrao in Brasilia.
