Gemtracks Beats Set To Open In Nigeria

Working freelance is something many Nigerians have been doing for many years. With the connectivity of the internet bringing people closer together, many oversea firms have chosen Nigeria as the country to outsource their work.

Now a new platform known as Gemtracks Beats has been given the greenlight to operate in Nigeria. It is a marketplace focused on the music industry, offering instrumental beats and other musical services such as session singers and music master engineering to clients all over the world. In most cases, these clients are musicians themselves.

Founded in 2016 by Jesse Neo, what started as a side hustle to sell instrumental beats quickly developed into a startup.

“The idea of Gemtracks Beats started when I was working as a songwriter for several companies in Los Angeles,” Jesse revealed. “I remember being bombarded with phone calls and emails about my next project that I literally had no time to work on the actual music.”

So with the problem looming, Jesse decided to create a website that would be able to manage all the admin tasks and allow him to spend more time creating music. After weeks of launching, he was selling enough beats to pay his rent.

Today, Gemtracks Beats has become a full-fledged marketplace with more than 10,000 members around the world.

“I feel like it’s time for the world to experience the wonderful culture and music of Africa,” Jesse stated. “I have been to Nigeria many times and I am always amazed by all the wonderful sounds I have experienced on my trip. This is why I have decided to officially launch Gemtracks Beats in Nigeria and personally invite all Nigerian musicians to register as freelancers.”

Freelancers can decide how much to charge for the services. Most buyers are artists from America and Europe.

With technology becoming so relevant in our lives, it is time musicians also use it for their advantage too.
