The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has expressed his excitement on the giants strides recorded so far in sports sector as he celebrates his 56th birthday.

The minister who came in during the second term of the President Mohammadu Buhari administration, has been able to achieve some leap in sports that looked impossible.

This guy is completely delusional. Right direction?

    1. Causing non qualification for World Cup because of his stupidity and interfering with NFF
    2. Worst Nigeria performance in AFCON in 40 years
    3. Most embarrassing outing by Nigeria in the Olympics (not registering players and drug scandal)
    4. Messing up Nigeria deal with Puma to kit the team for the Olympics, which caused Nigeria over $2 million which Puma would have paid us.
    5. Not paying the basketball players (Men and women) and abandoning them, after making promises and doing photo op with them.
    6. Punishing Nigerian basketballers by withdrawing Nigeria from all competitions, because he was challenged on his incompetence and decided to enact revenge.

I could go on and on. This guy is, by far, the most absolute useless and incompetent Sports minister Nigeria has ever had.

Hahahaha, Benakay, na look we dey look dem.
Na the basketball own wey surprise me pass. Something that is working well, why tamper with it?
We are indeed making GIANT STRIDES in sports. The question is: are we moving forward or backward?

  • Benakay,
How did u get all these information without going back and check whether it is true or not.
I will answer your points one by one.The Minister did not send me any message or messages but I don’t like it when someone is lying to the public .

1.The work of Ministry of sports is to provide the enabling environment for our sports which he did by getting Moshood Abiola Stadium ready. The players even confirmed that they like the pitch. Was he or the NFF that made our goalkeeper to make error not for us to qualify for the mundial.

2.The ex international including Segun Odegbami requested for an home based coach which the ministry and NFF granted their request. Would you
blame Ministryy,NFf or Ex international for the goalkeeper error again.

3.It was the federation(AFN) that did not carry out the mandatory test due to infighting in the federation.I think you need to do your research work very well or meet sports journalist so that you could be taught about journalism before coming out to express your frustration.

4 The $2million you referenced was the amount some echoleon of the federation opened the account in their personal names and the amount was credited. If you were the head of the sports ministry would you not have queried it.That is how corruption begins.

5.Who solicited the money for the basket ballers(Male and female)? Was it not the Minister himself. He paid $200,000 to the CBN account of NBBF and the CBN said they should get both the male and female account but unfortunately the male did not submit their bank details and when the female cried out he instructed the female should be paid and later when the males are ready they will be paid .

6.The federation has been fighting over who leads the NBBF between Umar and Kida factions and the best is to allow peace to reign.
So my dear try and read widely and wisely before you come out to say half truths.
