Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan produced another breathtaking performance to qualify for the final of the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Thursday.
The reigning world record holder powered to victory in her heat in a stunning 12.19 seconds, registering the fastest time ever recorded in the history of the event at the Games.
The blistering run also ranks as the third-fastest time of Amusan’s career, underlining her superb form heading into the final.

Amusan, who struck gold at the Gold Coast 2018 and Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, is now on course to make history by becoming the first athlete to win three successive Commonwealth Games titles in the women’s 100m hurdles.
The Nigerian has been one of the standout performers in the event over the past few years, having won the world title in Oregon in 2022, where she also set the current world record of 12.12 seconds.
She will start the final later on Thursday as the overwhelming favourite, and will be confident of adding another gold medal to Nigeria’s growing tally at the Games.
A victory would further cement Amusan’s status as one of the greatest sprint hurdlers in Commonwealth Games history while boosting Team Nigeria’s medal hopes in Glasgow.
