Liverpool have been handed a boost as Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that defender Joe Gomez is close to a return. The Reds have missed the class of Gomez and his return, possibly before the end of March, would be a timely boost for the side pushing for both Champions League and Premier League glory.

Klopp says he expects Gomez to be available after the forthcoming international break when he should at least return to training from his knee fracture. He told the Mirror: “We expect him to be back after the international break – in full training, for sure, and then we will see how long it takes.”
Meanwhile Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has no serious issues after limping out of his comeback game for the U23s and can continue his build up to full fitness.
