Grant Enjoying PL Challenge

Huddersfield new boy Karlan Grant says he is desperate to prove that he belongs in the Premier League. The striker swapped League One Charlton for the John Smith’s Stadium in January, signing on with the Terriers for an undisclosed fee.

Grant was given 23 minutes on his debut in the 5-0 defeat at Chelsea and again featured off the bench at the weekend as his new side went down 2-1 to Arsenal.

Huddersfield’s situation as the Premier League’s bottom club has led to suggestions that the 21-year-old was brought in with a potential nod to next season when the team could find themselves fighting for promotion from the Championship.

The Greenwich-born forward is not looking at the situation that way though and says he is keen to prove he deserves his chance in the top flight. “I am enjoying it,” he said.

“Every time I get on the pitch I get a buzz. I just want to get on the ball and show what I can do. “Hopefully I can keep trying to make an impact and that is the main thing.

“It’s not a bad two games to play in your first couple of Premier League games! “It is where you want to play, against the big teams. That is where you get the joy from.”
