Demarai Gray has welcomed the competition for places at Leicester and is happy to be “flexible” to fit in. The Foxes have brought in three first-team players over the summer, having signed right-back James Justin from Luton, Youri Tielemans on a permanent deal from Monaco after a successful loan stint last year and striker Ayoze Perez from Newcastle.

Gray expects a fierce battle for a starting spot at Leicester in the coming campaign and he says he is prepared to adapt to ensure he is a regular as boss Brendan Rodgers prepares for his first full season in charge. “I need to be flexible,” he told the club website. “I’m an attacker so whether it’s on the right or the left, what I have to do still applies.
“I have to do the same things, but with the manager obviously coming towards the end of the season. “Everyone as a group was looking forward to having a fresh start, a fresh season and now we’ve got a whole season to try and achieve what we want to as a group. “It’s a very top team so I think competition is going to be tight. Everyone’s going to be fighting for their place and it’s [pre-season] just reminded us about that.”
