Guardiola Demands Full Focus After Derby Win

Manchester City have seized the advantage in the Premier League title race but Pep Guardiola has warned his side against complacency. City claimed a 2-0 derby win at Manchester United on Wednesday evening thanks to goals from Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane.

The defending champions now hold a one-point lead over Liverpool with three games to play, and manager Guardiola is well aware his side are still involved in a real battle to land the Premier League crown. “We’re still not champions,” said Guardiola.

“I told the players don’t read tomorrow, don’t watch the television, just rest and sleep a lot. We go to Burnley [on Sunday] and we know how tough it will be. It’s important to be calm.” City face the Clarets this weekend before taking on Leicester (h) and Brighton (a) in their remaining fixtures.

Liverpool host Huddersfield on Friday and complete their campaign against Newcastle (a) and Wolves (h), while the Reds also have to juggle European commitments as they face Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
