Guinea Bissau Star Pele: No Shame Losing To Super Eagles

Guinea-Bissau midfielder Judilson Mamadu Gomes ‘Pele’ says there is no shame losing to Nigeria and insists the Wild Dogs can take a lot of positives from their performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Baciro Candé’s side exited the competition on Wednesday night after going down to a 2-0 defeat against Nigeria.

The Djurtus finished third in Group D, amassing just one from three games.

Pele stated that the Super Eagles showed their class on the night and losing to one of the best teams on the continent is not totally disappointing.

‘We are disappointed to be going home this early but I don’t think there is any shame in losing to a big side like Nigeria,” the Monaco star told Complete sports.com.

“Playing at the AFCON has been a remarkable experience for us and we can take a lot of positives from the three games we played here.”

“We hope to qualify for the next edition in the Ivory Coast and hopefully put up a better performance.”

LMAO.. You see! And we are here celebrating as if we won the Belgium National Team. LMFAO!!!

    • We are only celebrating because of what your rohr did to our football.

    • Chidozie 2 years ago

You didn’t read before this comment. The headline alone is enough for you to understand that he’s saying they lost to a very good team but the bitterness in you won’t let you see it. Stop being a saddist. Your General Rohr is gone, brace yourself and body go pepper you for long.

    • Papafem 2 years ago

Hahahaha… No true Nigerian or or a Nigerian football fan will be unhappy that the national team is doing, under whatever coach, in whatever circumstance, like this MONKEY is making it look.

This post just confirmed he’s an embiterred foreigner looking ways to spoil the joy we currently share courtesy the our national team performances. We should all ignore him and let bark alone.

I know that you are very very sad that Nigeria is playing well, all of u that are wishing Nigeria bad will be disappointed

    • Detruth 2 years ago

@MONKEY POST I do not know what point you were trying to make but I have to tell you, you really need to move on. Quit the negativity and bitterness my brother the team did a good job and you need acknowledge that fact, also acknowledge the fact that they did not celebrate like the beat the German nor Belgium national team, they celebrated like they won three out of thier three AFCON group matches which they actually did.

You guys should leave @monkey post alone. He is the Omo9ja of eguaveon’s era.
We were all in this forum when Omo9ja kept predicting doom for SE ahead of her matches, competitive or friendly all because of Rohr. Even when the team was doing great.

Nevertheless, @Monkey post, I advice you sheath your sword. I understand your anger at the treatment metted out to Rohr inspite of his gentility, patience, sacrifices for the country. But it’s now in the past.

Let’s MOVE ON and support Eguaveon and the team to do well.

LMFAO! It’s only in this country that when you say the truth you will be tagged a traitor/saddist or foreigner. Anyway not surprised cos the likes of Baba Fela were tagged same when they stood up against injustice and spoke the truth.

    • Dude, Rohr is history and let it be. Grow up and stop dwelling in the past. He had his chances and he blew it, same players he had in his team is what Egu is using to get results and playing beautiful attacking football. Nigeria and Super Eagles comes first above Rohr. Don’t you see improvement in the team? Coaches get fired when they are not getting result because football is result oriented, under Rohr we have had this team tagged as young team since 2016 he took over it till he was sacked.

This is 2022 dude, Rohr is 2021. Support Egu and Super eagles to keep flying higher. That’s the best you can do as a nigerian.

@MONKEY POST you are really making an ass of yourself. Nothing in your post made sense and stuff that don’t make sense can not be considered or classified as truth. Your opinion about the Eagles celebrating like they defeated Belgium National team is what you call telling the truth ?‽? If you really think there I a single truth in that comment, your sense of judgment is suspect. The only truth your comment revealed are your bitterness and resentment towards the team. True and real Nigerians/Eagles fans don’t make comments like the one you made when the Eagles are playing the best football, it doesn’t matter who the coach is,this team is playing even better and more organized football than our beloved 94 Eagles. 94 Eagles was a tough team that played with intensity, but this team brought a new dimension to what intensity and consistency should look like. ٪

FYI, there’s a huge distinction between opinions and facts/truth and if you can’t distinguish between them, there’s a big problem you have to work on, and you definitely shouldn’t be publicizing you opinions as truth.

Mentioning Fela to add weight to your opinion is way off mark and an insult to Nigerians.

Am just laughing o imagine ooooo Baba Fela Kwa,,, Nigerians a beg make we slow down critics at times, what is it seeff , super won all their game that guy is crying, who knows if he had dreamed to bet on bet9ja that this guy’s will not win without Rour, wahala dey ooooooooooooooooooooooo

@Monkey Post, I did not sell out or betrayer’s the progressives my brother but simply aligned with the truth and reality on the ground.

Rohr did a great job assembling these wonderful players but I can see clearly now that he does not know how to harness and utilise their talents. So I see that Rohr can be a good Team Manager but never as a good Technical Adviser or Chief coach. He doesn’t have a winning mentality at all, likes playing safe without ability to take a calculated risks that may lead to success.

I am currently at work now but I will explain and analyse Rohr in details when I get home.

Apologies my brother but I had to be a true progressive that only identify with a way forward to success for SE but never a die hard Rohr Fanatics. Super Eagles of Nigeria is my primary concern and am such a Fanatic supporter of a team representing my Country of birth

God bless you Dr Banks, i do not think you owe anyone any explanation as everyone is entitled to their opinion. This is not a sect, We can only persuade others to see things from our perspective, we can not force our views on anyone.

@Monkey Post has chosen to be a die hard Rohr Fan and he remains inflexible to change his stance on this team despite their good performance. He is entitled to his opinion.

For the rest of all other fans who have been thrilled by the exhilarating performances of the SE, let us enjoy this moment. Our Super Eagles was dead but now alive! draws were like wins before but now we beat teams convincingly.
minnows like CAR were not easy to play against before but now we spank them easily.

Our players were not considered World Class but now the World speaks of our class.

      We move!

  • I feel Rohr can still assist the NFF in scouting and bringing in quality players to the team… He is fair in his selections to a large extent, and at least we are sure that he won’t be influenced by d naija bias

    • Golden Child 2 years ago

@Q, Was he the one scouting though? I believe a gentleman by the name of Adelakun was Rohr’s chief scout. He was responsible for identifying Nigerian talents across the globe and reporting to his principal (Rohr).

    • Detruth 2 years ago

@Q, loose that feeling. We have to move on and accept the fact that Rohr’s era is completely over. The team is doing great without him so far and we hope they continue in this trajectory and if they do, they can only get better.

  • Niger u na get players , Nigeria keep it up by God’s grace u na go reach finals if only the super continue to train hard ,una go fit carry this cup
