Granit Xhaka has suggested he is looking to move on from Arsenal and take the ‘next step’ in his career. The 26-year-old established himself in the Gunners side under the leadership of Arsene Wenger, who brought him to the club in 2016, while he has also kept his place following the arrival of Unai Emery.

The Swiss international has fired home four goals from midfield this season and has been a key figure as Arsenal battle for a place in the top four of the Premier League. Despite cementing a place in the Gunners first-team, Xhaka appears to have one eye on the future, and would consider a move away if a bigger and better opportunity presented itself.
“I’m very ambitious, I want to take the next step, Arsenal does not have to be the last stop,” he has been quoted as saying. There has been no suggestion that bigger clubs than Arsenal are lining up a bid in the summer, but if there is interest, then the player is open to the idea of the move.
