Arsenal are reportedly keeping a close eye on the progress of Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz as they look to replace Mesut Ozil. The Arsenal are understood to be open to letting top-earner Ozil leave during the summer after a falling out between the playmaker and the club, and intermediaries are working on finding a new club capable of matching the Germam’s wage demands.
Arsenal have begun compiling a list of potential replacements for Ozil and reports in Italy claim that Havertz is among their targets. The 19-year-old has earned comparisons to Ozil for his style of play, operating just behind the strikers at Bayer Leverkusen where he has managed to score 11 goals in all competitions this season.

The Germany youth international is highly thought of at Bayer and penned a long-term contract through until 2022 with the club back in 2017. Given the length of his deal and his importance to the Bundesliga side, any summer move for Havertz would likely cost a sizeable sum.
