Gusau Charges Super Eagles To Go For Victory Against Costa Rica

President of Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau has told the Super Eagles to go for victory as the team is set to take on World Cup-bound Costa Rica in a friendly game in San Jose in the early hours of Thursday.

The President made the call on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning in Nigeria) shortly after the team’s lunch at the Intercontinental Hotel in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Gusau, who spoke through the leader of delegation and NFF Executive Committee Member, Otunba Sunday Dele-Ajayi further called on the Super Eagles to be worthy ambassadors of the nation as he vowed that the NFF Executive Committee under his watch will not relent in its quest to reposition Nigeria Football.

“I am delivering this goodwill message on behalf of the NFF President. Mr. President is wishing the team the best of luck in tomorrow’s game against Costa Rica.

“It is pertinent for you to note that Nigerians are result-oriented and they want the team to always have a good outing in every match, friendly or competitive.

“It is a friendly game but at the same time, we want to win.”

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will battle the World Cup-bound Los Ticos at the Estadio Nacional in San Jose as from 8pm local time on Wednesday (3am Thursday in Nigeria).

Plateau utd shamefully just lost out to Al-akhdar, losing 3-0 after defeating same team 4-1 in the first leg. No excuse this time around about officiating, as game witnessed one of the best officiating ever by African referees. OUR LOCAL LEAGUE FOOTBALL IS SERIOUSLY IN ITS LOWEST EBB EVER AND MIGHT JUST CONTINUE TO GET WORSE IF NOTHING IS DONE NOW TO STOP THIS DECAY.

Damn, just saw coosta Rica beat the c team of nigeria, the nigerian players are really unintelligent players. My god what an eyesore. Salisu is a very poor coach for selecting these kind of players to represent 9ja. Why is a coach like Manu Garba not asked to coach our local SE team, his brand of football is the best i have seen of any 9ja team coached by a nigerian with the exception of maybe Sia1. Instead of these unintelligent players, the NFF could have just asked our u20 team to go persecute this game, that team would have done better than these old cargo players with no skill or intelligence. The #4 is crap, na to dey slide anything he sees, there was even a time he tourched the ball last and still guided it for a corner against 9ja. Or is it the leftback who kept passing the ball to our opponent. Mehn dis game was bad. No wonder people have been complaining that our local players are just not good hence d reason they can’t get clubs in good leagues in Europe. I am so disappointed at d way we played. Although the timing of d game isn’t ideal but the team could have done alot better. The costa ricans are not good except if dis is not d team they intend on using at the worldcup, however campbell (former arsenal player) was in action for costa rica. If this is the team costa rica intends on using then they wont reach the 2nd round.

Nigeria expectedly got beat 2 nil by a world cup bound Costa Rica.
The fire works, the party, celebrations a send-off party for their team traveling to Qatar for the world cup.
I felt frustrated it was emotional,it started to sink in our world cup ouster. We are a big nation a football country but a team in dire need of a good football administrators.
One man’s selfish and foolish decision has ruined our world cup dream. We are now a team others are using for a send-off what a shame!

Iam beginning to wonder if Gusau and Pinnnick are determined to destroy Nigeria and no one is speaking up to get rid of these pests first it was a talk of the world cup 2022 now I am sure Nigeria will not talk its way to the next world cup 2026
