Gusau Visits Ailing Ex-Eagles Star Nwosu, Assures Of NFF’s Support

The President of Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Musa Gusau on Tuesday visited former Nigeria captain Henry Nwosu at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba where the legend has been receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment for some weeks now.

Nwosu, the youngest player in the Nigeria squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations title on home soil in 1980, had been in the hospital for some time now, with top politicians, captains of industry and football chieftains all showing interest in his health status.

“I can assure you that all Nigerians, from our political leaders to business gurus and all football people, are interested in seeing you recover from this illness. Everyone, within Nigeria and in the diaspora, is praying for your recovery and eventual recuperation,” Gusau told the legend in the hospital located in the Delta State capital.

Nwosu, a formidable force in the Senior Men National Team of Nigeria in the 1980s, played in three Africa Cup of Nations finals (1980, 1984 and 1988) and was one of the best players of the 1984 and 1988 editions, both of which Nigeria lost to Cameroon in the Final.

He scored a stellar goal against the Indomitable Lions in the 1988 Final in Morocco, disallowed by Mauritanian referee Idrissa Sarr, and that incident remains of the evergreen talking points in the 65-year history of Africa’s flagship football championship. Cameroon went on to win by the odd goal scored from the penalty spot in the second half.

“The NFF will continue to monitor your situation and will be ready to offer whatever support it can while also calling on all those who can lend their support for you to return to your healthy self to act in the nation’s interest,” Gusau told Nwosu.

    These people are stupid ooo
Just fly him abroad for medical attention if you want him to regain his health, sight and consciousness
Prayer has nothing to do with this,
NFF chairman or who u be..
As you step into Asaba hospital you should arm yourself with Air Ticket for his trip to the designated hospital abroad not coming to tell him how the world is praying for him
A drastic disease needs a drastic cure
He need money to go abroad not prayer
Prayers will not pay for the Ticket
Team of Doctors to see him not legions praying for him
What kind of Country do we have for goodness sake
Putting your hands over his shoulders does him no good
PAY AND FLY HIM ABROAD BEFORE WE LOOSE HIM
ARE YOU GUYS DEAF AND BLIND
What else do you want to see to know that he is almost gone
Do the needful for goodness sake
    WHO IS FOOLING WHO
If you like bring all NFF board members to Asaba
If you like fly all political aspirants to Asaba..
All he needs is his life
    BLIND NFF fly him abroad
We do not want long speech of OBITUARY
    DO THE NEEDFUL NOW!!!!

Deluded enwe, blind fool. obviously you are so confused and the sickness within your systems is worse than what henry has. So your blind eyes can’t tell you the 2 men were standing up for pictures. Where in odegbami’s write-up did he request for him to be flown abroad? Why are you here ranting, as if you were the doctor that diagnosed him. How much have you or your generation dropped towards taking him to abroad. You are just a complete fool who is just seeking for breast milk to reset your brain. Must everything be abroad, have the doctors in Nigeria commented that he can’t be treated by them. I repeat give them the money to send him abroad. who knows if you borrowed me for data self.

@MONKEY POST,Ahmed Musa is a person just like you and I want to believe we are successful people in our different fields.
Ahmed Musa is not the richest but he’s kind. You don’t have to be a multimillionaire to be generous.
The point I’m making is you can fly to Asaba from wherever you are based and show your benevolence kindness towards former super eagles maestro Henry Nwosu.
      DON’T WAIT FOR MUSA!!

      • MONKEY POST 1 year ago

@GREENTURF the BEST is to FLY NWOSU ABROAD just like HARRIS suggested so HE can get the BEST of the BEST MEDICAL ATTENTION…

@GREENTURF NWOSU needs WORLD CLASS MEDICAL ATTENTION!

I don’t TRUST our MEDICAL FACILITIES..

GOD FORBID but tomorrow will might just wake up to the NEWS that NWOSU is no more.

        Let’s STOP FOOLING ourselves..

How many of our POLITICIANS, even GUSAU himself, will stay HOME to TREAT themselves when they are ILL?

Even if they are suffering from COUGH they will want to make OVERSEAS their MEDICAL TOURIST SITE.

I mean COUGH that an AVERAGE NIGERIAN MAN will just NEGLECT until it stops..

You see they are all AFRAID of DEATH.

They all know the RIGHT thing to do

And yet they want to keep a COUNTRY’S FOOTBALL LEGEND in ASABA MEDICAL FACILITIES for an ILLNESS that needs the BEST SERIOUS MEDICAL ATTENTION..

    • @MONKEY POST it is not Musa responsibility to fly anybody to Overseas for Treatment. Moreover Nwosu is Igbo from South while Musa is from North never you forget that. And it is Nigeria we are talking abouut here. As @Greenturf rightly say why not ustilise your resources and help Nwosu or better yet let us set up a go fund me acc for Nwosu. oh wait Na Naija we dey o. Go fund me acc no go fit work somebody must chop the money lol.

anyway on a lighter note the Government of Nigeria are the ones failing the ex footballers because in sound working countries citizens that serve thier nation in any capacity must have a very sustainable Pention fund that pays out evert other month but no not in Jungleeria
