President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau this week visited injured Super Eagles duo, William Troost-Ekong and Zaidu Sanusi at their base in Europe.
Gusau during the visit held discussion with Troost-Ekong on the importance of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin Republic.
The PAOK Salonica of Greece defender is currently recuperating from the injury he sustained at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The centre-back won the Player of the Tournament award in Cote d’Ivoire.

The centre-back is expected to be fit in time for the World Cup qualifiers in June.
Sanusi sustained an injury while in action for his Portuguese club FC Porto just few days after the AFCON 2023 finals.
The left-back is expected to return to action at the start of next season.
It would be recalled that Gusau also visited another injured player Moses Simon last weekend.
Simon was injured in the Super Eagles friendly against Mali last month.

Good Job but you’re doing the right thing at the wrong time Mr Gusau. Kindly give us the next coach let us know where we stand. The Afcon payout & achievement should be enough to get a good coach without causing damages to your account. NFF you must change for once and start doing what is right!!!!
The primary purpose of visiting Europe is not to visit the players but to finalize contract talks with the new foreign coach as reported.
This current NFF cannot sustain the payment of a foreign coach but will instead resort to a local coach in the mode of Amuneke. The yearning of majority of Nigerians is Amuneke with his updated CV rather than unknown element from impoverished European countries.
