Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres has broken the UEFA Nations League record for longest consecutive scoring run.
The 28-year-old netted in Sweden’s 1-1 draw with Bosnia & Herzegovina in Zenica on Friday night — his sixth Nations League game in a row finding the net, dating back to October 2024.
With that, Gyokeres overtakes Aleksandar Mitrovic (Serbia) – five games (June 2022 – Oct 2024) and Benjamin Sesko (Slovenia) – five games (June 2022 – Sept 2024) to become the first player in Nations League history to score in six consecutive appearances.
He also overtook Erling Haaland in the process — Haaland had seven goals in the 2024/25 edition, Gyokeres finished that campaign with nine goals in six games.

The record comes as Mikel Arteta is desperate for a striker. Kai Havertz limped off with a hamstring injury for Germany, Christos Tzolis suffered a hamstring injury for Greece on Thursday night, and with Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus all sold in the summer, Gyokeres is now set to lead the line against Leeds United next week.
He has two goals in three Nations League games this break and 22 goals in 38 caps for Sweden overall.
