Real Madrid’s pursuit of Chelsea’s Eden Hazard has hit a stumbling block after talks over the transfer fee reportedly collapsed on Monday.
Hazard hinted strongly that he was set to leave Stamford Bridge following the Blues’ victory over Arsenal in the Europa League final, and Real’s interest in the Belgium playmaker has been no secret.
It always seemed likely that the former Lille ace would end up at the Bernabeu and dialogue had begun over a summer switch of clubs.
However, according to Standard Sport, Real Madrid chief executive Jose Angel Sanchez flew out of London without a deal as the clubs cannot agree on a price, with Chelsea wanting at least £100m and Los Blancos unwilling to meet that demand.
It is thought that the deal will still be completed at some stage although there will need to be more talks before Hazard is unveiled in the famous white shirt.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
