‘He Was Immense’- Gerrard Talks Up Aribo After Rangers Win At St Mirren

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has once praised Joe Aribo after the midfielder put up another impressive display in the 2-0 win at St Mirren on Wednesday afternoon, reports Completesports.com.

Aribo was a delight to watch in Rangers’ midfielder as he tormented the St Mirren defence along with Glen Camara and Ianis Hagi.

“In-terms of our style, it probably wasn’t there for the majority of the game. I thought it was really patchy, but there were a lot of positives to take away,”Gerrard told the club’s official website.

“Both number nines have scored a goal, I thought Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara were immense, and we have kept another clean sheet, so in the main, we are happy and we move into the weekend in a good place.”

The 24-year-old has scored four goals in 14 league appearances for Rangers this season.
Rangers next game is against title rival Celtic on Saturday.

Immensely talented player very much under-rated, which again is working to his favour. A VERY BIG HEART PLAYER, WITH THAT WINNERS MENTALITY. THUMBS UP ARIBALL.

This is what I love most about Aribo. He always working hard to support the team. When you have Aribo, Ejaria, Azeez and Etobo in a team, no need of having Messi and C.Ronald in the same team.

Aribo just need to learn how to be playing against African oppositions.

He is a complete player. What a clever player he is. My pikin is always making me proud of him every day. I’m so happy for you Aribo.

Like Onuachu now, every club in Europe want to have him around.

We have players. If we don’t win the next Afcon, we should do something exceptional in that tournament.

Kudos to you Aribo. God bless Nigeria!!!

  • Aribo is a quality player no doubt. The bad pitches and robust style of play in Africa may have affected his games playing for the Super eagles but there is no denying his talent. I see him adjusting and getting used to Africa football in no time. Iwobi had the same problem when he joined the Super Eagles but look at him now stronger, faster with more skills and goals coming out of him especially when he plays against African opponents. So Aribo will adjust and start displaying that brand of football that makes viewers ask for more.
Keep it up bro. As much as I enjoy seeing you play for rangers, I cant help but hope you move to a more competitive league like England, italy or spain where your skills will be on full display for the world to see if they arent already.
I will like to see a central midfield comprising of Aribo, Ndidi and probably Etebo because even if Ejaria’s switch goes through he will still need some time to adjust to the African style of play. Eventually he will take Etebo’s place but for now a fit etebo will retain his spot.
I see lookman (also on the basis of his switch going throug) slot immediately into the left wing and iwobi benching chukwueze on the right wing. Osimhen is still favourite to lead the attack but I wonder if Napoli will willingly release him after his long injury. Anyway if they dont or he decides to stay back. Then Sadiq umar or Taiwo awoniyi can do the job upfront. Defenders are: Aina, Ekong, Leon and Saidu
