Heineken Unites Real Madrid, Chelsea Fans with Davido, Reekado Magic

The energetic performances of top music artists, Davido and Reekado marked the climax of an already spectacular Champions League night in which Real Madrid booked their passage into the semi-final phase ahead of Chelsea.

Courtesy of International Premium beer, Heineken, fans and loyal customers at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos bothered less about the final outcome as they enjoyed the unique viewing experience of the epic clash at Santiago Bernabeau.

With the Champions League trophy itself in town in the company of football legend, Clarence Seedorf, it was always anticipated that a thrilling experience was on the card for everyone signed on for the unique Heineken Experience.

The tone for a fun-filled day was set with Seedorf, Nigeria football legends, Austin Jay Jay Okocha and Daniel Amokachi as well as top officials of Nigeria Breweries addressing the press at the company’s bar on activities for this year’s Champions League trophy tour.

Next up was the Faceoff challenge where after the heavy showers in the metropolis, it rained goals in the game between Team Davido and Team Heineken.

The best of Nigeria and Dutch football was served with a total of 14 goals scored by the two teams; with five-star Okocha leading the line, scoring five of the goals to the delight of the fans.

Then it was time for action in the Spanish capital where Chelsea gave a brave performance that saw them overturning the 3-1 deficit they suffered in the first leg in London.

Though Thomas Tuchel’s men came pretty close to masterminding one of the greatest comebacks in Champions League history, their nemesis, Karim Benzema popped up with an all-important goal in extra time that ensured Los Blancos stay in the hunt for yet another European title.

However, instead of the final whistle at Santiago Bernabeau translating to the end of a fun-filled night for the fans, it marked the beginning of even more entertainment with Davido and Reekado Banks taking the centerstage and treating the fans to hits after hits into the dead of the night.

With the ‘Cheers to all Fans Campaign’ in full flight, fans and consumers will be looking forward to more rewarding experiences as the Champions League nears its most crucial stages.

Heineken, the official sponsor for the UEFA Champions League for over 27 years, has continued to take the lead in offering its consumers and football loving fans in the country the opportunity to watch live telecasts of all the matches every season.

  • This is one of the reasons why our football development is retrogressing in Nigeria. Companies that do not contribute anything to our football inspite of the huge profit they make off the pockets of our beloved country men and women only pay huge sums of money to bring in retired players from Europe to further market their products and our sport/football administrators are cool with it. Tell me the contribution of Heineken and Nigerian Breweries to our football development, do they care about our football? The sports ministry destroyed the school sports development structure we had from Independence so that they will have enough money to steal and buy SUV for their official use. If the Minister knows what he is doing he would have realised that the only solution to the numerous failures Nigeria have been experiencing lately is to go back to school/grassroot development of our sports particularly football. He does not need any federal budgeting allocation to kick start football leagues in all our schools Primary, secondary plus Tertiary Institution , All he needs is to put on his thinking cap and make these same companies like Heineken and numerous others that are using him to boost their campaigns right now to contribute monetarily and materially to the project and watch our football blossom again. Please, somebody help me tell Mr Sunday Dare to WAKE UP. Good Bless Nigeria.

Please let no one come to tell me the world is becoming a global Village, for as long as that concept elevates every other continent besides African, then it must be globally accepted.
FOOLISH AFRICAN LEADERS IN ALL SPHERES AND MATERIALLY ENSLAVED CITIZENS OF AFRICA MUST WAKE UP AND START CELEBRATING ORIGINAL IDEAS INSTEAD OF BORROWED,DEAD MATERIAL AGGRANDISEMENT.
