Heracles Almelo Ready To Allow Dessers Join Genk For Right Price

Heracles Almelo technical director, Tim Gilissen says the club is willing to allow Nigeria forward Cyriel Dessers join Belgian side KRC Genk, but it has to be at the right price, reports Completesports.com.

Genk are keen to sign a new striker after allowing Tanzanian Mbwama Samatta join Premier League club Aston Villa in January.

Dessers, who scored 15 goals in 26 league appearances for Almelo in the Dutch Eredivisie last season has also been linked with a move to Galatasaray and Feyenoord.

“We would love to keep Dessers, but if Genk’s offer gets serious and it leads to a good deal, we’ll grant him,”Gillissen was quoted by hln.be.

“They have been in touch and made an offer, but the fact that we are not around the table says it all. It has not yet led to negotiations.

“No amount has yet been specified. It is logical that there is interest in the top scorer of the Eredivisie. We would love to keep Cyriel, but if Genk’s offer gets serious and it leads to a good deal, we’ll grant him. ”

Rather than move to Genk,i would remain with Heracles until a team with a decent profile comes along. If actually you are nursing ambitions of playing for the super eagles and not just for a bit part role, then you must make the right choices to match your ambitions.
The super eagles of Gernot Rohr is highly competitive with players moving to decent teams in the top five leagues across Europe.
Apparently, playing for Genk wont in anyway hold back or curb your chances of an invite to the super eagles, rather you are going into a rising team in global football with a relatively low profile leaving you vulnerable of exclusion should you fail to impress the expectant fans in your debut.
After finishing joint tops in the Dutch Eredivisie goal chart, you can do better than Genk.

    • And to add to its we have like two Nigeria stickers at the club already playing same role; Odey and paul Onuchu

      • Additionally, I don’t think Genk will be playing Champions League football next season. As per league standings, the Belgian league is not million miles ahead of the Dutch league so I am not fully enlighten on the rationale for this move.

I strongly believe he will thrive where he is again next season and should only go to a club that represents an exponential upgrade to where he is at the moment.

Anyway, good luck to Cyriel Dessers in whatever decision he takes.
