Former Nigerian international, John Utaka has described Montpellier forward, Jerom Akor as a good and intelligent player.
Akor, who has taken Ligue 1 by by storm in his fist season, scoring seven goals in 11 league appearances for Montpellier.
Having represented Nigeria at two World Cups and three Africa Cup of Nations since his debut in 2002, Utaka in a chat with the club’s official website, stated that Akor has adapted so quickly with Montpellier.

“He’s a good boy, intelligent, and he adapts quickly. He wants to progress. He knows his role here,” he told the club’s official website.
“He knows that his work will be useful to the team. If he is aware of it, that is the most important thing.”
Akor, known for his prolific goal scoring prowess, has distinguished himself as one of Ligue 1 goal getters, coming second behind Kylian Mbappé, who is on 13 goals.
Born in Benue State, Nigeria, Akor developed at the Jamba Football Academy before making the move to Norwegian side Sogndal in August 2018, netting 10 goals in 28 games before making the move to Lillestrom in December 2021, where he would emerge as one of the best strikers in the league with 27 goals in 47 appearances.
This prompted Montpellier, who were on the verge of losing top scorer Sepe Elye Wahi, to sign him in August on a four-year deal, paying just €4.5 million.
