Former Wolfsburg manager Bruno Labbadia has backed Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen to make a big impact at Serie A club Napoli, reports Completesports.com.
Osimhen linked up with the Partenopei from French Ligue 1 club Lille last week for a fee around €50m.
Labbadia was in charge at Wolfsburg when Osimhen linked up with Bundesliga club in 2017 following his impressive showing for Nigeria’s U-17 side at the FIFA World Cup in Chile two years earlier.
Though the 21-year-old failed to make much impact at the club, making just 16 appearances in his two-year spell, Labbadia still has some nice words to say about the young striker.

“When he has the ball on his feet, he is formidable and in one on one he is very strong,” Labbadia was quoted saying in Il Mattino as reported by TuttoMercato, “and then he is very good in running without the ball to be found free by his companions.
“He knows how to descend in every reality, he always gives 200 percent,” the German coach added. “He makes a great central striker because he is the classic number 9.
“Not only that, he played outside for me in 4-2-3-1. He was young and he’s fast, but it is in front of goal that he can make the difference because he has a great flair for the goal.”
Osimhen scored 18 goals and provided six assists in 38 appearances across all competitions for Lille last season.
