Home-Based Players’ Camping To Precede Super Eagles’ Future Games

Home-Based Players’ Camping To Precede Super Eagles’ Future Games

Nigeria Football Federation in response to calls by Nigerians for the involvement of domestic league players in Super Eagles’ matches, has agreed to henceforth open camp with home-based players, for a week or two, prior to the arrival of the overseas-based players.

Officials told Completesports.com that the Federation came to this conclusion after a meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, in his office last Tuesday in Abuja, and a followup by the Executive Committee later same day

“The minister suggested to us to involve more home-based players in the the Super Eagles’ games, and we have agreed to camp the local boys for between one to two weeks before the overseas-based players report to camp for any particular match in Nigeria or abroad,” our source divulged.

“We have directed coach Gernot Rohr and his assistants to monitor the local leagues and invite players to camp ahead of every game. Rohr will then pick the best among the home-based players to join the foreign-based players when they arrive camp.

“Our best players are outside the country, no doubt, but we want to boost our domestic football by giving the league players the chance to break into the Super Eagles on merit after training under Gernot Rohr for a week or two. Stephen Keshi discovered many home boys from his local camping and went ahead to win the 2013 AFCON with about eight domestic league players featuring,” our source divulged.

Meanwhile, Gernot Rohr has started monitoring the domestic players by being at the Rwang Pam Stadium Jos to watch Plateau United play Simba of Tanzania in a CAF Champions league game while one his assistants Joseph Yobo was in nearby Bauchi to watch Wikki Tourist play John Utaka Football Club in a friendly game.

  • Using home base players is not an issue… The major problem when they play 2 or 3 matches for SE they should still remain in NPFL for future invite.

Not a situation where they would run to INDIA, FAROE IRELAND, MALTA, BARHAIN, INDONESIA, AZABAIJAN et all the “MEDIOCRE” league in europe & fizzle out like vapour.

We don’t want to keep training players then at the end of the day we don’t see any to use.

Finally, i think with this all those “NDI INVITE” this & that has ended….
Bcos Rohr would not let go of his regulars (which we all know) for any new foreign born player.

With this i think the clamouring for EJARIA, ADEMOLA, OLISE, TURANIGHA, UDUOKHAI, ADARABIOYO, BASSEY UGHELUMBA, EHIZEBUE, EZE to be invited has finally come to an abrupt end…..
Let’s manage the ones we have on ground….

No more new players, only 4 home base and 20 already established foreign base which we all know and can list them….
    Atleast some headache is gone….

If Rohr die, na sense killam…. LOL….

    • Omo9ja 3 years ago

@UBFE, You see gentleman, you are mixing up everything here.

No Matter what, we are still going to need our foreign based players.

Oga Rohr is the problem because he believes that we don’t have quality players in Nigeria which is not true.

There’s going to be loss of form which is understandable but he have to plan on that too.

You don’t seeing what I’m seeing. If so, you will agree with me that we still need Amunike, Egbo, Enyeama and Ikeme in this team.

This Super Eagles is full of fantastic players but they can’t do anything because of lack of tactics, vision and good combinations of selections from the gaffer.

By having these gentlemen around to work with Oga Rohr, Super Eagles will be hard to beat for any team in Africa and in the world.

But. Hmm. But. I repeat but, corruption won’t let NFF to do the right thing at the right time. Let me stop here jęję, because truth is bitter. It is well. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

      • @Omo9ja, just listen to your self… If I get you right, the reason why you dislike Rohr is because he is underperforming(even though you do claim to love him as a person)
And you believe his team is not well enough but from what you wrote up there,.. “Oga Rohr is the problem because he believes we don’t have quality players in Nigeria…” There’s going to be loss of form which is understandable ” I.e by the time the home base are coming in, the  existing underperforming team will go from bad to worse which is understandable to you.
Lol. I can see u really want good plan for Nigeria. Keep it up.

        • Sean, I don’t believe @Omo9ja “dislikes” Rohr. Quite truly Rohr has not show cause to prove he is tactically capable for this assignment, even though he has been given complete support and sufficient time.

The way I see it, it doesn’t matter what one supplies Rohr with, the man cannot give what he doesn’t have – he is tactically inpet and, by his results, intellectually slothful. It behoves one to understand why we must continue to tolerate and encoursge this kind of type of behaviour, but expect that one day a magic wand will be produced that will automatically change everything.

          • @FOOTBALLFANATIC (new Dr. Drey).

Oga let there be peace on this forum na….
Try and use ur name na…..

As per ur comment and opinion which u are entitle to, and i don’t have to ask u why u are viewing it from that angle…. But remember, this same clueless, inept and no tactics coach has given us a team that can last for atleast 6 to 7 years which our former quardiola never did for us….

I swear with my life I am not the imposter and please leave my name out of your mouth….How can you just assume that I am using someone else’s name…I have been on this thread for close to 10 years even during the time of kickoff Nigeria I have never for once done such. If I am the imposter may God Pubish me severely and if I am not may the wrath of God be on you for the false accusation. Just because I had an argument with the man few days ago doesn’t give you the right to falsely accuse me…

          • Footballfanatic 3 years ago

And for your information I’m in support of Rohr continuing the job I am not of the opinion of firing him….. I might not be in good terms with Dr Drey but who ever this Bastard is don’t be a coward and stop using someone else’s name ….state ur own point with ur real name…

          • Footballfanatic 3 years ago

In the 10 or over 10 years I’ve been coming here….I can count the number of times I comment. Sometimes for 6 months I do only reading and sometimes I’m active by contributing in writing. This bastard (New Dr. Drey) is taking advantage of my argument with the real Dr. Drey so people will think I’m the one since I just argued with him. I will never stoop so low. You can air your opinion here without being known with any kind of name you choose but you have to be an ultimate coward with inferiority complex to steal someone’s name because you don’t agree with him. Completesports can you please block or cancel this fake Dr. Drey for christ sake…I don’t want to go through another bout of arguments like I did over the weekend plsss.

          • @FOOTBALLFANATIC.

            What calls for the swearing?

Bcos a human like u mistakenly assume (base on the row u had with Dr. Drey some few days ago) u may be the person trying to act this way.

            Nawao….

It’s just an assumption, & if u read through the lines of my comment u can’t find any harsh word.

It was on this forum that i made a comment & someday quickly assume me to be @Dr.Drey, i didn’t start swearing heaven & earth but i only disclose myself to the young man.

Even if u are the person, who would come & arrest or beat u?

Then why trying to justify yourself knowing very well its neither add nor subtract from ur person.

We’re all nigerians & when it comes to curse we know how to vomit it.
I may not type it here but i have my own way afterall u don’t know my religion, where or who i worship.
I was accused on this forum on this same matter & i never cursed any…. I can use this point & counter those utterances u made then turn it against u but i won’t….

Say back those words u uttered & let peace reign.

Hey, see… The new Dr. Drey is now showing red.

          • Footballfanatic 3 years ago

I will swear of course because people will jump on your bandwagon and there is no way to prove it’s not me….an assumption is different…you categorically called my name out….out of the numerous people that comment here. Am I the only one that has had disagreements with Dr Drey? But just cause I had an argument with him last weekend and I’ve been mute you confidently came out and called my name like you’re a detective or some sort. I repeat again If I’m the one may God punish me and if I’m not you will get yours for this false accusation….I’m sorry bro but it hurts to be falsely accused.

          • We’re here to learn and to create fun while talking sport (soccer), but some pple always take it extreme….

Well, since u have decided to behave this way and still be adamant there’s no problem shar….

But if when i was accused on this same forum of being “Dr. Drey” i did place any curse on anybody then what ever u say would stand…. But if i did not, what ever u say is disannul by the power and authority of God invested in me…..

2ndly; if footballfanatic is the name ur biological parent gave u then ur utterances would work but if this is not the name ur biological parent gave u at birth, then all those utterances are canceled….

Finally; if u have never said something mistaken against somebody then ur utterances would stand…. But if u have said something against somebody mistakenly and the same incident happends to u then u decide to behave this way; ur utterances are destroyed by the power of God…..
And if u are still adamant, the utterances PERISH with u….

Why should a Nigerian home-based doctor be praised for getting an appointment outside the country while a footballer stays in Aba, eating from the gutter.Modern IT makes it possible to monitor the performance of any Nigerian footballer anywhere in the world You don’t have to remain in Ajegunle to get selected into the Super Eagles!!!

A time of swift business drive by the vociferous players agents who want Rohr off the stage. But they’ll double cross one another, angling to push one unskilled player after another to the SE. There will be wahala!

  • I just watch the match between SIMBAS and PLATEAU UTD in Jos (via sport this morning)….

The way thos boys scored the goal is awesome…. A long ball from the midfield to the left winger who controlls it and go pass his marker, drags him back and force his way into the box…. Makes a cross which causes some mix up b4 a simba player rushed and put it pass the GK….

These are the pple they are forcing on us….

CHAN u can’t qualify, OLYMPICS u can’t qualify…. CAFCL, they are about to be kicked out apart from eyimba which we are not even sure….
But they want SE to invite them….
    Wahala no dey shar….

Just chill. No rejoicing yet. But we can never who is who, can we? We just stay tunnef. Let’s enjoy the confusion while it lasts. Like most things, this will be temporary. Cheers!

Guy you authoritatively put @Footballfanatic. There was nothing like It might be or maybe it is footballfanatic or anything that could point to an assumption meaning you were harbouring it in your mind that since he his the one that argued with Dr Drey then that means he is the one….you know quite well the insults that were exchanged btw me and Dr Drey over the weekend and here you are recklessly assuming that I am the one using his name. This could start another bout of insults which I am not ready for but rather than apologize and say it was a mistake you come here preaching and saying razzmatazz about if it is the name you mother gave you and this and that….yes I took it serious due to events that had transpired in the last few days and I have principles. Impersonation is something I frown at so don’t try me with that b.s and to the fake Dr Dre may God punish you for this confusion you are causing…I came here to enjoy talking football but things are getting very annoying and disturbing here and I will be resorting to just reading like I used to.

    • Footballfanatic 3 years ago

I am done with this is issue and will not address it anymore….the Bastard fake Dr drey….thinks he can play on people’s intelligence. You go silent when accusations are flying all because you are a coward to state you opinion with your own name but you will rather cause unnecessary confusion on a soccer discussion platform. You must be an evil person in real life to stop so low but when karma catches u in a different way don’t cry.

  • All Amadi 3 years ago

This is the worst Nigerian Minister of Sports. He is applying a system based on quotas instead of merit for selection to the Super Eagles. Nigeria will never move forward with ignorant tribal bigots like this.

  • Ako Amadi 3 years ago

The home-baded player question is an old scam employed to sell Nigerian players rapidly abroad. Any home-based player who wears the green shirt of Nigeria today, leaves for Europe, Israrl or North Africa next day. A country’s national team should not be manipulated by the Ministry of Sports in collusion with agents to sell young Nigerians into football slavery.

  • Proudly 9ja 3 years ago

Guys, there is this young boy called Adeyemi (german born) that plays for Salzburg. He is a left footed winger with speed and tenacity He scored today in dia 3:1 win over locomotive Moscow. He is a very good prospect to be honest. We are limited with left footed wingers. other than samu we don’t have anyone else. He is only 18yrs and could easily add value to our u20 team. Ojo formally of Liverpool as well is a prospect.

  • @Footballfanatic….

There’s no point swearing for the so call Dr. Drey (2nd)… Just let him be…. Everything that has the beginning always has an end…

But my intention wasn’t what u think i still insist…. Read through the lines of my comment and see it urself….

Notwithstanding; since the angle i viewed it from is not in line or accordance with urs (we all know humans thinks and interprete differently), i’m sorry for that statement i made….

@Dr. Drey(2nd)…. Keep it up…. We no the difference between the 2 “DR.DREYs” on this for forum….

One is for Rohr; the other against Rohr…. Shikinna….

    • KangA 3 years ago

The revealing truth is that Dr Drey (2nd) is NOT a Nigerian.. Nigerians are not known for cowardice. From his poor English, I think he’s from Zambia or DRC. Just an educated guess, though.. And to think that he is even an African—repulsive. The land of warriors from Cape to Cairo.

Only cowards hide under false identity to spew out rubbish. I am a pro-Rohr fan, but I deeply respect people like Omo9ja who are on the other side of the divide. Whenever I read the 2nd Dr. Drey I say: “Here’s a fool ranting.”

      What a shame!

    • Footballfanatic 3 years ago

My apologies to you too sir….I was just pained by the fact that people will think I will hide under Dr Drey’s name because of the argument we had….it will be cowardice to immediately assume his name right after an argument all in a bid to discredit his points. I AM STATING IT CATEGORICALLY THAT I AM IN SUPPORT OF ROHR AND NOT IN SUPPORT OF HIS TERMINATION…..TERMINATING ROHR AT THIS POINT WILL BE A SERIOUS DRAW BACK FOR US. God bless you bro and for fake Dr Drey keep being the coward that you are….your input here is already a waste of time due to the fact that you have to assume an established name to counter that established name’s opinion….what a fool you are.

      • @Footballfanatic…

        Thumps up…. U are a 9ce guy…..

I like easy going guys like u…. Keep it up….

The question to ask is what changed. Back in the days was that not the norm that the local players will be in camp before the arrival of the foreign based players. So what changed. There was no noise back then of player agent, why now that the minister is calling for it to reinstated, that forumites are now saying it is ex players agitating for the own players to be included in the national team

I used to think that coat-wearing minister has sense. He is just a politician like Amaju Pinnick. Homebased camping to preceed Super Eagles games… People who cannot even pay up-to-date players’ Match bonus. Maladministration has been our biggest reasons for underachievement in sports. Do we even have a league?

  • JimmyBall 3 years ago

Meanwhile… Bobby Adekanye seems to be catching up to speed slowly with Cadiz in Laliga… That guy to me is the closest natural left-footed player to Samuel Chukwueze in my opinion. I rate him higher than Sheyi Ojo… I think this is the time for NFF to start trying to talk to him. That is one full blooded Nigerian too good for us to allow him at the mercy of only bit-part international roles with Netherlands. If Chukwueze is not fit to play in games… With Bobby Adekanye in, Samuel won’t be missed in my opinion. They are both even earning their stripes in highly competitive Laliga… Super Eagles will surely rise again! One love…
