How Super Eagles Rated In Slim Defeat To Algeria

Completesports.com’s ADEBOYE AMOSU rates the performance of Super Eagles players in their friendly encounter against the Desert Foxes of Algeria in Oran on Tuesday night…

FRANCIS UZOHO 4/10
The goalkeeper didn’t cover himself in glory with Algeria ‘s second goal. Not a good showing from the Omonia Nicosia of Cyprus shot stopper.

OLA AINA 5/10
Didn’t support the attack much. An average showing from the Torino man.

CALVIN BASSEY 6/10
Did his best against the Algerian attackers. He was booked late in the game.

KEVIN AKPOGUMA 6/10
Combined well with Calvin Bassey in central defence. Not a bad performance from the Hoffenheim defender.

ZAIDU SANUSI 5/10
Had a torrid time coping with the Algerians. Like Ola Aina, he didn’t do much to support the attack.

FRANK ONYEKA 4/10
Conceded the penalty that led to Algeria’s first goal. He struggled to get going in the game.

ALEX IWOBI 6/10
The Everton man worked tirelessly but couldn’t affect the game much.

The winger showed flashes of brilliance early in the game but fizzled out afterwards.

ADEMOLA LOOKMAN 4/10
A disappointing performance from the Atalanta winger. He was replaced by Godwin Saviour in the 65th minute.

Scored Nigeria’s only goal of the game but didn’t contribute much.

    1. This team need good goal keepers.
    2. The defence can still have players like Uduohkai,Jenz, Tarunarigha.
    3. Midfield needs attention. Yusuf, Ejaria, Eze, Olise, Amos etc
    4. Dessers and Ejuke weren’t used properly by the coach, should have introduced them early enough.
    5. The coach have to take bold decision going forward if this team is to thrive.

Bad officiating cost us this match. We muuve. Good game from Iwobi, Moffi Bassey,Akpoguma, Lookman

The WOTOWOTOFICATION goes on unabated lol

The real AFRICA WOTOWOTOFICATION will happen in Qatar November where these amateurish African teams ll be used as EBA TABA by Brazil and the likes of Argentina lol

See these WOTOWOTOFICATION statistics here by AFRICA teams

So these are the teams that are going to represent Africa in Qatar?

WOTOWOTOFICATION disgrace ll be too much lol

  • Uzoho and Maduka should never be invited to
the national team ever again . Going forward he coach needs to work harder to get his own scout and see about discovering a good goalkeeper and other players for all departments to improve what we already have. The coach must build his own team not the amaju team

We really don’t have keppers anymore, okoye and uzoyo is an eyesore, onyek and iheanacho should be replaced with other players going forward, they don’t have the quality to be national team players.i would have preferred etebo with or without club to play with iwobi.its safe to say that this team will always struggle to make it out of a group stage of any tournament talkless of winning it,pasero shouldn’t talk about winning the afcon for now at least, this team is not close to being ready for that task.

DEFEATS is now a COMMON THING with the SUPER EAGLES…

    It started with EGUAVEON

Something that was very RARE under GENERAL ROAH…

Highest under HIM WE were having so many DRAW SOUP(DRAW)

    SMH…..

    • SHUT UP!!!. THat game ended 2-2 in my books. The crowd was very Hostile. Nigeria missed very very very important players I mean Osimhen scored 4 goals last game did you not see the lack of pace shown by Iheanacho?

      1. Osimhen Pace was missing
      2. Ndidi (becoming a norm now) injury cost us
      3. Bad Officiating
      4. Chukwueze and Aribo

Have you not heard in football the saying some players give the team confidence well we were missing 2 players with that calibre Osimhen and Ndidi. So I ask you if you take MAhrez, Bennacer and Ismali out of Algeria what will be the result.

Let us not let defeat always clowd our judgement

P.S. Piserio Counter attacking formation is something Rohr can only wish to be able to plan. If Osimhen was there some of those balls where Iheanacho Lack of pace failed us would have been latched on to by Osibobo and we may have won that game.

Monkey Post was right. This loses started with Eguavoen.
The sacking of Rohr unsettled our team.
Many are unaware of Rohrs technical expertise, proficiency.
He was the one behind our success ironically we thought it was the players talents only,we were wrong. He was sacked believing anyone could get the job done since we have the finest players in Africa as we are deluded and erroneously in believing but in reality I doubt we are in top ten best in the continent at the moment.
        Sunday Dare destroyed our football.
We need a new transparent and knowledgeable NFF board and a sports minister who has knowledge in sports management.

        SMH..

@UGO IWUNZE it seems you are a LOSER in REAL LIFE..

Cos na only LOSERS like to dey EXCUSES…

  • No cause for Alarm anybody who judges a team that is missing 4 important players is not being realistic. If Nigeria is missing our Best Attacker the only attacker since Yekini retired to challenge his record and only at 22 yrs then common that will obviously affect the game. The coach last man was with Osimhen the same game Iheanacho did not feature it is also the first time he played Iheanacho and made a mistake by playing the same tactics he employed with a X100 faster Osimhen. NHot to mention NDIDI still in my books the best CDM in Africa. and Aribo (Scored against Brazil) let us not forget Chukwueze.

Let me pose a question to you people.: Take Algeria’s key players out and give us a full strength squad will Algeria survive?

  • 2:2 in your book! Sorry your eyes will clear when you wake up from your slumber. Pls what was the result when you played their B team without Mahrez,Benazer etc? You guys sha like to proof what is not justifiable. They beat us sound and clear and they deserves it because they were the better team barring some bad officiating anyway. By the way you are not even talking about your coach thought you will call him Belmadi’s boy again lol

    • But the fact remains we still have had Osimhen, Aribo, Chukwueze, Ndidi missing as well as Sadiq. do you really think these players cannot change the complexion of either game. Mind you both games Algeria were awarded dubious penalties. My thing is yes the final result is what we all want but Nigeria have had reaaly bad luck of late infact since Bassey burst on the scene has Osimhen, Bassey and Ndidi played in the same Nigerian squad at the same time?.. Answer the question Oga Know it all

  • My worry is that when an opposing team changes it’s plan in the second half we always look ordinary, it has become very consistent experience with our national team.
Secondly it’s clear that the goal keepers we parade and hype to high heavens are not better in any way than our home based, they must be respected and invited cos the level of disgrace these guys bring upon us is too alarming. Imagine it was an home based keeper that fumbled the way Uzoho and Okoye did, our analyst would have told us how terrible our league is.
Why using players that are not enjoying playtime in their club and use them in the national team to insult the sensibilities of Nigerians?
Thirdly all these feigning injuries to avoid playing supposedly low teams smack of pride and abuse of love Nigerians reposed on these players.
Some of these players now apply “WISDOM” in playing for Nigeria, using Nigeria to feather there nest.
I LOOK FORWARD TO A BOLD AND A COURAGEOUS COACH LIKE OLISEH WHO DEFIED EVERYTHING TO BENCH OUR OVERRATED STARS FOR HOME BASED PLAYER I REMEMBER BENCHING MIKEL, IN HIS TIME YOU MUST PROVE YOU ARE READY TO PLAY FOR YOUR COUNTRY WHOLEHEARTEDLY, BUT WHAT DO WE HAVE NOW AND OUR FORUMITES ARE TOO EMOTIONALLY ATTACHED TO PLAYERS THAT EVEN IF THEY MESSED UP THEY LOOK FOR EXCUSE TO DEFEND THEM, I KNOW OLISEH HAD HIS TEMPERAMENT ISSUE BUT YOU CANNOT TAKE DISCIPLINE AWAY FROM HIM AND EVERY PLAYER WILL SIT UP,.
HOW MANY COACHES CAM BENCH OSIMHEN IF HE IS UNDISCPLINED FOR EXAMPLE, BUT IN EUROPE EVERY NATIONAL STAR KNOWS HE MUST RESPECT HIS COACH DECISION AND HIS TEAMMATES AND SO WORK HARD TO MERIT THE SHIRT BUT IN OUR CASE IN NIGERIA, THEY ARE God’s, it’s a shame for allowing boys to play on our emotion without calling them to order.
When players know you will line up behind them even when they misbehave, they will continue there wrong attitude.
Everybody you watch what will happen against Portugal, they will sramble to be part of it, even those with injury will hide it to play cos it’s a prestigious one just watch and see.
Any player who is not ready to play their hearts out for Nigeria should not be invited again, heaven will not fall, there are many professionals in the country sacrificing for the development of Nigeria in the face of daunting challenges, footballers are no exception,.
Any players can dropped, this is where I respect OSIMHEN, He always have is all on the pitch anytime not the likes of …….

    • “”I LOOK FORWARD TO A BOLD AND A COURAGEOUS COACH LIKE OLISEH WHO DEFIED EVERYTHING TO BENCH OUR OVERRATED STARS FOR HOME BASED PLAYER I REMEMBER BENCHING MIKEL, IN HIS TIME YOU MUST PROVE YOU ARE READY TO PLAY FOR YOUR COUNTRY WHOLEHEARTEDLY, BUT WHAT DO WE HAVE NOW AND OUR FORUMITES ARE TOO EMOTIONALLY ATTACHED TO PLAYERS THAT EVEN IF THEY MESSED UP THEY LOOK FOR EXCUSE TO DEFEND THEM, I KNOW OLISEH HAD HIS TEMPERAMENT ISSUE BUT YOU CANNOT TAKE DISCIPLINE AWAY FROM HIM AND EVERY PLAYER WILL SIT UP,.

@Cyril Kasim So basically your solution is to make things worse?… na wa oo. una don see am Nigerias Chai. As Kevin Samuels used to say YOU CANNOT MAKE THIS SHIT UP.

    • @Cyril Kasim Can your home Based players Beat the Algerian team we played yesterday?… My friend take am easy o.
