I Want To Return To Milan As AFCON Champion —Chukwueze

Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze has said his target is to head back to AC Milan with the AFCON trophy.

The Eagles will be back in action in Côte d’Ivoire on Saturday when they take on rivals Cameroon in the round of 16.

Both the Eagles and Cameroon finished as runners-up in Group B and C respectively.

Chukwueze has featured in all of the Eagles’ three group games which saw them record two wins and one draw.

Up next for Chukwueze and his Eagles teammates is the clash with Cameroon on Saturday.

Looking forward to the knockout tie, Chukwueze stated he wants to go back to Milan with the trophy.

“I can’t leave Milan to come here and not win a trophy, I really need it,” Chukwueze replied (via Calciomercato).

“I want to make my country proud and I don’t want to waste my club’s time for nothing. I have to fight for my position and win.”

The last time the Eagles faced Cameroon at the AFCON was also in the round of 16 at the 2019 tournament in Egypt.

Odion Ighalo scored two goals and Alex Iwobi was also on target as the Eagles won 3-2 win.

For Cameroon, they will be looking for a first AFCON win against the Eagles since the 2000 edition co-hosted by Ghana and Nigeria.

In the final played inside the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, the Indomitable Lions won 3-2 on penalties after 120 minutes of football ended 2-2.

It’s possible just try and wake up from sleep,u have been out of form since 2020.u have turned yourself to an ordinary player due to lack of confidence

  • It’s easy to talk. Match that with performance.

Oga, change your game and up it. You have the skills but decision making is still your weakness. Football is not all about gra-gra. You can also learn to be unselfish and how to whip in dangerous crosses. Also help me tell Moses Simon (your friend-in-gra-gra) to finetune his decision-making.

If you want to return to milan as a champion then you have to raise your game . You have to assist the main striker in the team victor osimihen. You must be selfless and play for the team and assist you team mates. You must also establish your self as a good finisher and convert your chances if you want to return to milan as a cup winner. The Algerian national team, Ghana national team and tunisian national team that failed to raise their game are on thier way home because they all failed to raise their game. While equatorial Guinea and carpe Verde with thier business like approach have distinguished themselves in this competition with thier brand of soccer. We will continue to support super eagles but the players have to play enterprising football like the eagles we use to support in 1994 and 2013.

The last time you rose up to expectation was in 2020. Since then, you have become the most predictable and disappointing player in the team. Even Rohr had to place you on the bench when he saw the depreciating level of your performance.
Show the world that you are top player who has done it in La liga against top teams, be assertive, stop playing to the gallery, by now you should have been at least at Qudus level.
At this point, it is obvious you are taking your closeness with Osi9 to diminish other players and the team. No one is saying you shouldnt assist your friend but not at the detriment of the team. u keep looking to pass to Osi even whe he is close marked, try to free your mind and think of other players for the success of the team.
