Icardi Waiting For ‘Concrete’ Inter Offer

Mauro Icardi says Inter Milan have yet to table a “concrete” deal, with his agent claiming he is “far away” from signing an extension. The Argentine forward still has another two-and-a-half-years left to run on his existing contract, but the Nerazzurri are keen for him to commit his long-term future, with Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona all understood to be keen on the 25-year-old.

Recent reports have suggested Icardi is ready to reject the offer on the table from Inter while the club are keen for him to find a new negotiator, having been frustrated with the dealings they have had with his wife and agent, Wanda Nara. Nara says that the two parties are nowhere near reaching an agreement on a new deal and Icardi, who has ruled out finding a new agent, has indicated the ball is now firmly in Inter’s court.

Responding to a report in Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport regarding his wife’s involvement in contract talks, Icardi wrote on his Instagram page: “I want to clarify to all the fans who read work written by pseudo-journalists in ‘serious’ newspapers, which write or give instructions to write without knowing or having a real idea of the facts, that my renewal will only take place when Inter make me a correct and concrete offer. “Only after that can we talk about my renewal with truth while putting to one side the lies that have been spread.”
