Former Tottenham manager, Tim Sherwood has showered praises on Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho after his goal-scoring exploit for Leicester City in the Premier League.
He is the Foxes’ top scorer this season with 17 goals, the first time since 2014-15 that Jamie Vardy has been in danger of not leading the way.
So far in his 34 appearances this season, the former Manchester City forward has scored 10 goals in the Premier League, four FA Cup goals, and four Uefa Europa League goals.
Speaking ahead of Leicester City’s clash today against Newcastle in the ‘Weekend Premier League Preview’ on Football Plus, Sherwood stated that the Nigerian international has handled the Foxes goal-scoring responsibility perfectly.
“It has been forced upon him (Brendan Rodgers) a little bit, there was no Maddison, there was no Ayoze Perez. He played him (Iheanacho) when Vardy was injured, but he stuck with the two because you cannot drop him at the moment.
“He is undroppable, fantastic goals that he scores. I feel sorry for him; he has come from Manchester City; he probably thought he was going to play every minute of every game, didn’t materialise like that.
“Now he has kept himself right, he’s very professional, he’s had the opportunity, and he’s showing everyone what he can do,” the former Spurs boss concluded.
