I’ll Fight To Earn My Super Eagles Shirt Again – Onuachu

I’ll Fight To Earn My Super Eagles Shirt Again – Onuachu

Super Eagles striker, Paul Onuachu says he’s not disappointed the team’s manager, Gernot Rohr didn’t invite him for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.

Onuachu, who has painted the Belgian League with his goals was expected to be in Rohr’s 24-man squad that was released on Tuesday but then his name was omitted.

The 26-year-old has 26 goals in 30 games, with three assists across all competitions this term.

With only one goal in seven appearances for the Super Eagles, Onuachi in a chat with Punch stated he will work hard to earn his place back in the team.

“It’s the coach’s decision, and I respect it, he has the final say, and there’s nothing I can do to it, but I will do my best at all times and always fight to represent my fatherland,” Onuachu told The Punch.

    Onuachu,
Just stay focused, keep playing your game. It is obvious to a deaf and blind baseball novice that you’re the best Nigerian football striker right now. However, our clueless and small minded Rohr and the NFF will not acknowledge the obvious.

Stay focused, keep proving doubters wrong.

        @JimmyBall,
Thank you for liking and supporting my comment. You see, we know what the problem with Houseboy Drey is. He is an anti progress, illiterate, unpatriotic nameless nomenclature, who turns away from ills militating against the progress of his fatherland for the sake of bread. A despot of his type simply deserves our collective pity. Nothing more.

Positive from Paulo… You are there my man. Let’s see other candidates like Sadiq, Kelechi and Moffi in the coming months. But for sure no coach should ignore one with the stats of Onuachu… How is coaching in his club working for him and not one in the national team… He is a gem and I believe some squad members have not been making the right and incisive plays to oil the engine of this very poacher… Relax Paul Onuachu. Our Centre forwards remain… Osimhen, Onuachu and Sadiq. Given more convictions I might later add Moffi. It’s my belief that Iheanacho can function best as an attacking midfield… You cannot depend on an Iheanacho for your goals but he contributes a lot of positive and incisive plays.

    • Dr. Drey 3 years ago

Pls don’t forget to advice your boy to also go and learn ball control, hold up play & lateral and diagonal positioning too b4 he gets his next chance if at all Sadiq Umar will ever let him have another chance…..LMAO.

SE is not Genk. International football is not Belgian league….LMAO

      • kenneth 3 years ago

Ogbeni keep silent please, na you suppose advice your selfish wingers or midfielders to feed him correct ball. Yes Genk can never be SE in a million years because it is not being run by incompetent people.

All you need do is score goals whenever u are invited,u have done enough in ur club.

  • A good professional you are Onuachu, your performance has exposed the the happenings in the team, around the technical team and in NFF,POLITICS!POLITICS!POLITICS!
I won’t be surprised that there is Mafia within the team.

    • TUNDE 3 years ago

U TOO WORK HARD SO THAT YOUR CASE WILL NOT BE LIKE THAT OF TOSIN DOSUNMU,BABATUNDE OGUNSOTO,JOSEPH AKPALA– SCORING GOALS IN BELGIUM LEAGUE BUT NOT SCORING GOALS FOR SUPER EAGLE.
WE NEED GOALS IN NATIONAL TEAM

  • Chairmanfemi 3 years ago

You’re best for your Club and not Super Eagles. Stay focused and keep learning how to be a complete striker that plays with his feet too, plays with his Midfielders and not rely on Crosses from Amuneke and Finidi. Then you’ll be invited again. For now, I say PEACE BE UNTO YOU in Belgium

    • Kryss 3 years ago

Chairman fermi, you are very funny. You mean crosses from Amuneke and Finidi. Well, hopefully,  Paul will get it right. Obviously, fans are becoming impatient because the World Cup is around the corner.

Paul Onuachu is naive! You cannot fight for a place in the team if youre not invtud to camp. You have scored 26 goals this season. But the coach, Gernot Rohr thinks that’s not enough. Good luck!

  • Omo9ja 3 years ago

Not that you are not working too hard in the Super Eagles whenever you call upon Onuachu but Oga Rohr also need to work extra ordinary hard to get his tactics right.

We are playing Benin in few days and Nigerians are very panic because we are not sure if Oga Rohr will use his tactics to win the those two games.

Also, his followers are not helping the situation.

Good or bad, they have to follow Oga Rohr like that . Ah bia, if we are not getting the results we deserved this time around chai, Oga Rohr, Oga Pinnick and Oga Rohr deciples will be responsible for it.

I won’t say more than. Goog luck to Onuachu. God bless Nigeria!!!

    • Minus me o. I’m definitely not a member of your panicking commitee. In regards to the two upcoming matches, I’m so relaxed and confident of the players and the coaching crew (minus Yobo) that I’m already looking beyond AFCON qualifications. My attention and interest is already tilting towards World Cup qualifications

      • Kryss 3 years ago

Gbam . That is just it. We are looking Beyond Afcon. Benin and Lesoto are not a serious matter.

      • Omo9ja 3 years ago

I think you should calm yourself down a little bit for now.

After the two matches then, you can say whatever you like but for now, winning the two matches is not guaranteed under Oga Rohr.

That is why NFF preferred Lagos to Uyo this time around because they understand that Oga Rohr is not good enough to win against the disciplined teams. The record are their.

Our star loaded team was presented against Madagascar and Sierra Leone, what happened in the end?

Algerian coach told Nigerians how he will handled Oga Rohr Super Eagles during the friendlies and he did just that and you still believe we have a coach who can take this Eagles beyond this level?

If we win the two matches this month, we should thank God first then our players then Oga Rohr.

Sebi “you are not panicking and
I’m so relaxed and confident of the players and the coaching crew (minus Yobo) that I’m already looking beyond AFCON qualifications. My attention and interest is already tilting towards World Cup qualifications”

Okay o, I pray so but limit your expectations until we have the positive results in our locker.

The coaches of the Super Eagles doesn’t have what it takes to win games. That is the bitter truth.

I wish our country the best. God bless Nigeria!!!

Onuachu, moffi, olayinka, oshimen, iheanacho, maja, simy and all our CF’s are good players. The major problem of SE is the Midfield and its lack of creativity, and this German has failed to solve that..how can you invite 10 defenders…the only outfield creative midfielder is iwobi….a good coach knowing too well our game against S/L is on a bad pitch would have resulted to playing long balls, where onuachu would have been effective but he choose to play kelechi…His reading of games and interpretation on tactics has been poor…the pool of players we have now both abroad and home needs a technically and tactically sound coach to bring out the best…I keep asking myself what is musa, sehu,Collins doing In that team…we dey one chance so.

    • Ayphillydegreat 3 years ago

One question in terms of talent and pedigree would you choose Onuachu ahead of Kelechi?? Take it or leave Onuachu was minus two at the AFCON. One of the reasons we struggled at the last AFCON was dropping Iheanacho for Onuachu. Iheanacho has proven himself in one of the most glamorous leagues in world football over the last 5 years. Onuachu has only been good in Denmark and Belgium. If Kelechi plays in those leagues the rest will be history. The gaffer is addressing the creative midfield department by bringing an 18 year old Olise to the the fold. The only reason he was not in the 23 was passport issues. Let the coach do his job and wait till we maybe draw against Benin and Lesotho before you can celebrate it as a loss LMAO!!

  • Thanks for this @gideon. This article puts a lot of things into perspective. But although it looks like a straight swoop between two players (who are strikers) of similar build but different style of play, I cant help thinking its just a way of throwing us off the fact that onuachu, a very active and inform player who has been a member of the team since the last afcon and who is currently the leading goal scoring in Europe (not too sure about this point oh) was dropped for an inactive player who now has the title of non-playing captain of the team and in all likelihood may not feature in any of games.

LMAO! The coaches in the SuperEagles doesn’t have what it takes to win games. All the games they’ve won Nkọ? All the games they won to qualify for a WorldCup and AFCON after missing 3 out 4 nkọ? Maybe they won those games in Mars or Jupiter. LMAO! Nothing wey person no go read for this forum. Please don’t come here and claim you love oga Rohr after we’ve qualified with games to spare as usual. I know you’re already praying for a draw so that you can celebrate it as a loss. LMAO!

My question is, which position the team in FIFA ranking before Rohr took over? you cant please people, this is how una remove Jonathan and brought demonic Buhari, lets appreciate where we are now and hope for better future

  • Collins id 3 years ago

Onuachu, simmy, awoniyi, should forget eagles, they are not capable of carrying our cross in the attack, I have not seen them score from outside 18 yard, I have not seen them dribbles and strikes hard they are lucky stars to be in the great level they are, they should be greatfull to God, supereagles is not for everybody many people never had opportunity to rep their local government. If you are a striker you know very well that your ball control is not good enough, you know you struggle to shoot hard and you know your speed level is below average (You cannot tell me you don’t know your level) what do you want to do with the eagles? To disgrace naija? The answer is greed, that is typical blackman thin yes it’s difficult to accept truth in our world, if you know that someone is over rating you bcos of your look or your first impression don’t be too proud to take a position you know you don’t deserve onless you want to put the country pride in mess.
A white man will tell you what he lacks and why he or she thinks he isn’t deserving, then the coach will see if he can do with those weaknesses or can invite you for personal training, but we see every chances as an opportunity and we want to take the chances even if we get disgraced we don’t care (just like the case of president buhari) even if other lives are at stake we still like to try our luck. Look at yobo? Can’t u just tell Nff that you don’t have what it takes to coach, not even a certificate, but he will want to take the chances, can some of our players dare’s to dream realmadrid or Barcelona? But all of them dreams eagles even clubless players, that is greed and mediocrity. I grew up in an era where a player will pull of his shirt for a better player to play it was never be a shame bcos football is not do or die. Musa gave up captainship for well deserved Mikel, I know he also gave up his club(all nasir) to a better league just to be a deserving captain(though wasn’t lucky with westbrom) that is the spirit of humility and the result is rewarding (4wcup goals) you can see musa happiness when Sunday mba scores afcon winning goal u will see every Nigerian feelings in him,(musa) same cannot be said about someothers in thesame bench Wishing if it where them in the pitch. If football was an individual game like boxin or long tennis many eagles wannabe, will not even exist as players. Enjoy your lucky stars in ur club. if you reach that level you your self will know, we will call you with abeg to it dont fight your way in just becos you admire your self, put the national team ahead of your individual dream. Don’t be like Nigeria pastors wey they call god for phone.

Then simy for crotone needs to be given a chance. At least he plays in division one and as scored like 11 goals so far. Politics everywhere
