I’ll Keep Doing My Best To Earn Spot In Brazil Squad –Jesus

Arsenal forward, Gabriel Jesus, has been speaking out after being left out of Brazil’s squad for the upcoming international friendly matches, stating that he would keep working hard to improve and merit a spot amid top-quality Brazilian talents at the disposal of Head Coach, Tite.

A Selecao [The National Team] in preparation for their 22nd FIFA World Cup finals appearance in Qatar, will take on the Black Stars of Ghana on Friday, September 23 at Stade Oceane in France and also clash with the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on Tuesday, September 27 at the Parc des Princes, France.

Jesus and his Arsenal teammates, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes, were not included in the list for the aforementioned international friendlies.

“There was (contact) after the call-up, yes,” Jesus said.

“I respect the coach’s decision a lot, I respect Tite, the entire staff.

“As I said, I’m Brazilian, I’ll always root for the team. And I also respect the other players who have a lot of quality. I’ll keep doing my best to have the opportunity again.

“What I can control is my performance. I will always try to give my best, finish the plays. Today I had some chances that I could also improve a little more. I know, I’ve been training, trying to do my best.”

Jesus has scored 19 goals in 56 appearances for Brazil. He has scored four goals and recorded three assists for Arsenal in seven Premier League games this season.

Brazil are in Group G at the 2022 FIFA alongside Cameroon, Serbia, and Switzerland.

The Samba Boys of Brazil are the only team to have qualified for every edition of the FIFA World Cup.
