I’ll Quit If Alfa Moan – Raikkonen

Kimi Raikkonen says he will leave Alfa Romeo Racing if they complain about his off-track activities.

What drivers get up to during Formula 1’s mid-season break is hotly debated with Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton, who currently leads the Drivers’ Championship, often talked about due to his thrill-seeking adventures.

Finland’s Raikkonen is known to enjoy his rallying during his time away from F1 and while that may come as a worry to his team, he revealed he will walk away from Alfa if they lodge any complaints at him.

“I haven’t read my contract because it’s worth zero as far as I’m concerned,” PlanetF1 quoted him as telling Hungarian media.

“When we first talked to Alfa Romeo-Sauber, I told them that if they complain about anything, if they whine, I’m not here anymore!

“There are many dangerous things in life. Of course, one always tries to be careful, but it is enough to talk about the problem if it happened.”

Raikkonen, who is tied down to Alfa until the end of the 2020 season, also spoke about the potential changes that could be made to the sport for the 2021 campaign.

He added: “One way or another, everyone has an opinion on the rules, but I don’t know how much of that they take it into account.

I know that drivers want to influence the new rules through the GPDA and if they ask me, I will tell them what I think.”
