I’m A Typical Yoruba Man –Adebayor

Former Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor has confessed that he’s a typical Yoruba man despite representing Togo at international level.

In an interview with Television Continental (TVC), the former Arsenal star said that though he was born and brought up in Togo, the Nigerian blood still runs in his veins.

He said: “My father’s name is Adeyi Adebayor, and my mother’s name is Alice Eniola Adekanye. So, I am a pure Yoruba man. I was just born and raised in Togo, but I am fully from Nigeria.”

The former African Player of the Year was in Nigeria to participate in the novelty match organised by African football legends in honour of former Super Eagles captain Austin Jay Jay Okocha, who recently turned 50.

My brother don’t blame him the guy tried to play for us at U17 but according to him late Christian chukwu asked him to bring money and because of his poor background he had to choose the easier path to success which is going the side of Togo. He was interviewed at his prime time when he was still playing for Asner why he didn’t play for Nigeria. His response was he regretted not playing for Nigeria because he cherished Kanu and Okocha but because he couldn’t pay the money.

      • Who told you that Chairman Christian Chukwu is late. This shows that all you dished out here is full of falsehood.

Shut up your bloody mouth you fool!!.. christian chukwu never trained under 17 and have never asked anyone for bribe . Christian chukwu is not also late , he is strong and healthy unless you are the late writing like a forgotten ghost with no sense!!

    • Adebayor Sheyi all the way till I die.Haters can go hang

  • Christian Chukwu is not late ooo

  • The same bring money reason we lost David Alaba, the same reason Cameroun lost Mbape.African football administrators.

  • The truth is that if he were to reject representing Togo, he might not achieve the success he achieved. Nigeria might not consider him for international football, and this will affect his football career.
