The inaugural edition of Sagamu Cup Golf Tournament has been slated to hold from July 31 to August 3 2019, 2019, organisers have informed Completesports.com.
This is coming on the heels of the successful maiden edition of the South East Shootout Golf Championship held in June this year under the auspices of African Tour Golf Club at the Arsenal Golf Course and Resort, Obinze, near Owerri, Imo State.
Emeka Okatta, chairman of African Tour Golf Club confirmed the Sagamu golf showpiece will hold at the magnificent Elephant Cement Golf Course, Sagamu, Ogun State.
He disclosed that among the top golf greats expected to vie for the Sagamu Golf Cup title include reigning South East Shootout champion, Nigeria’s Francis Epe; Ghanaian golfers, Vincent Torgah and his compatriot Emos Korbla, and Sunday Olopade.
Okatta, a member of Nigeria Golf Federation, NGF, says organisers of the Sagamu Cup Golf Championship is desirous of taking the game of golf to all nooks and crannies of the country in a bid to create more awareness of the sport among Nigerians.
“Obviously, Vincent Torgah, Emos Korblah, Francis Epe, Sunday Olapade will be in action at the Sagamu Cup Golf championship,” Okatta stated.
