Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has said having Victor Boniface back from from injury is a big boost for the club.
Boniface spent around three months on the sidelines after undergoing surgery for an adductor injury early in the year.
The Nigeria international returned to action in Leverkusen’s DFB Pokal semi-final win over Fortuna Dusseldorf on Wednesday night.

The 23-year-old took the place of Patrick Schick on 66 minutes.
Alonso expressed his delight after the game and praised the forward for working hard to return to the pitch.
“It was special for him after 3 months out. He worked hard to get back on the pitch. He wanted to enjoy it with the players. We needed him back,” Alonso was quoted by the club’s official website.
The striker has so far registered 16 goals and seven assists in 25 appearances across all competitions for Die Werkself this season.
