US-based Super Falcons goal stopper, Yewande Balogun has opened up on her beautiful experience since deciding to pitch her tent with Nigeria.
Balogun, who plays for California Storm Goalkeeper in the American Women’s Premier Soccer League (USA’s women’s second division football league) during a chat with compatriot, Desire Oparanozie, from a video posted on the Insatgram page of the Super Falcons, said she has had a great experience since her first camping with her teammates in Nigeria.
According to her, aside the excitement of representing her fatherland, she has enjoyed the pleasure of savouring Nigerian cuisines.
“My first camping with the Super Falcons in Nigeria has been great. It is good been in Nigeria and been able to represent the Super Falcons. So I am excited about it. Since arriving Nigeria, I have been eating swallow. My favourite has been pounded yam and egusi soup,” Balogun said.

On her part, Oparanozie who plies her trade for Dijon FCO in French Women’s top League, said it was difficult to pick out a favourite roommate from the team, noting that she has had great experience sharing room with several of her teammates.
“Oh, please don’t put me on the spot. I have had great room mates and they have been amazing. I can’t really pick the one that is my best roommate. You are trying to set me up.
“It has always been the grace of God and consistency and the zeal to succeed and always be at the top of your game. So those have always been what have been driving me up. I can’t even believe it,” Oparanozie said.
Recall that the Super Falcons on Sunday qualified for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers beating arch rivals, Black Queens of Ghana 2-1 on aggregate.
