Johnson Wins In Saudi Arabia

American Dustin Johnson has won the first edition of the Saudi International by two shots from China’s Li Haotong. Johnson will now jump up to second in the world rankings after a classy display in the final round at the Royal Greens Golf and Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City.

He initially went into the final round level with his Chinese rival, but birdied the final two holes to finish at 19-under par, with Li on -17.

England’s Tom Lewis was a shot further back after a great round of 65 on the final day.
The 34-year-old Johnson will now become world number two and hopes his success in the Middle East can spur him on to more victories in the coming weeks. “I am pleased with the outcome, but feel I should have played a lot better,” said Johnson. “I am pleased to get back to number two and hope there is more to come in the next few weeks. “I’m heading back to the States and I’ve got three big weeks in a row, I’ve got Pebble, LA and Mexico coming up,” added the champion. “To win here shows my game is obviously in good form, and I’m heading into three really big weeks for me.
