Juventus Step Up Defender Interest

Reports in Italy claim Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is looking to sign Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian.

Allegri is looking to add to his squad for the second half of the campaign and has already apparently wrapped up a deal for Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey, although that has yet to be finalised.

Darmian’s future at Old Trafford is uncertain to say the least after making just five appearances for United this season, and a switch to the Italian champions would no doubt appeal.

Reports in the Italian press claim that Juve are interested in striking a deal but have yet to make United an offer with just over a week of the transfer window remaining.

That could all change of course and United will not stand in the player’s way if Juventus come in and match their valuation before the deadline passes.

Darmian’s first-team prospects have not improved since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and a switch to Turin would benefit all parties if a deal can be hammered out.
