Kalu Getting Back To His Best — Watford Boss Bilic

Watford manager Slaven Bilic has said that Samuel Kalu is gradually returning to his best.

Kalu made his first appearance of the season for the Hornets in the 2-1 victory against Norwich City last season.

The winger, who has struggled to stay fit since linking up with the London club from Ligue 1 outfit, Girondis Bordeaux in January replaced Ismaila Sarr in the 90th minute.

Bilic revealed that Kalu has been looking sharp in training.

“Kalu has been looking sharp. Offensively, he has that explosion and sharpness to beat a player, although, he is still not fully fit but he can still make a big impact for us,” Bilic said.

“I spoke with Kalu because when I came here, I was told his fitness levels were not good. I couldn’t understand how that could be when he wasn’t injured they had time to work on him well.

“Kalu is training very well and we can see in him something that makes us smile. He can beat players in a one v one and he is showing us he can make a difference on the pitch,” he concluded.
